the only thing about tv-land is they chop them up so bad. i haven't watched enough on hallmark to see how they do. i can't stand to watch FX cause they keep flashing all that junk on the screen advertising upcoming shows. you can't watch the show without all the distractions.

I don't get the Hallmark Channel...or FX...no M*A*S*H for me:(

FX chops them up too. They cut out some tags from the early episodes. Approx. 4 MIN are cut from the episode. More is cut when they originally aired as a one hour show.

UPDATE: Hallmark Channel will be the exclusive home to M*A*S*H beginning Sept. 1, 2003.
More info will be coming, like the timeslots, the only element I do know for certain is that they are airing this with its original CBS primetime content, which has not been seen in over 30 years! Once M*A*S*H went into syndication as much as 5 minutes of program were lost.

does that mean that HALLMARK has the exclusive CABLE rights to it, or the exclusive BROADCAST rights, and that local channels won't be able to show it anymore? Because my understanding was that they just have the cable rights, but local stations can still show it.:confused: :confused:

i do get the hallmark channel and acording to their website they are showing all 255 episodes digitaly remasterd and totaly uncut with all the missing footage just like what u see on the dvds:happyface

I think they count as one episode

The first season may have beeen unedited but the second season I see little edits in the show on Hallmark.

I'll have to check this out. Since I've been collecting the DVDs I've really become aware of the edits that have been made over the years. How can they advertize the shows are uncut and original?

My one gripe about them moving to Hallmark is that they show the eps in prime time. I miss seeing them in the afternoon on FX.

Hallmark airs them in the afternoon as well. Same time as FX did as well, 3-5PM I believe. And they re-air 10p-12a at night.

Could the Hallmark episode be airing a different version of the episodes (i.e. with the once deleted scenes now insert and other scenes taken out?) or could it be they are showing them unedited period? What could be the situation?

Hey, I thought MASH was leaving FX in September. Well, if it has nobody told our station here in Tampa/St. Pete , FL. It's still playing.

It's great to have a chance to tape all the episodes in order though from Hallmark. They've digitally remastered the tapes and are showing them uncut. I've picked numerous scenes that weren't shown on FX so far. Hadn't seen them in so long they stood out like sore thumbs.

The 3-5 episodes reair from 8-10. 10-12 or 12:30 are different episodes. Check the Hallmarkchannel.com schedule for the names of the episodes.

Hallmark, which has acquired the rights to the venerable series for five years, is currently airing M*A*S*H weekdays from 3 p.m.-5 p.m. (4 syndicated copies) and 10 p.m.-12:30 a.m. (4 digitally remastered & uncut copies).


In other words, only watch them 10-12:30!!!

That's pretty cool! How did Hallmark manage to get 8 copies of the show? Although only 4 count. The uncut ones! Why would they even bother with the syndicated edits during the day? Who would care when you have the uncut versions at night?

The big question of course is, how long will they stay uncut?
