I saw the video of that interview. That was funny.

Also, I still want to get a copy of the Season 7 DVD.

That was a cute episode. I also liked Barry and Geoff dressing up like the Miami Vice characters.

TV Ratings: ‘The Goldbergs’ Premieres Down on Last Season (https://variety.com/2020/tv/news/the-goldbergs-season-8-premiere-tv-ratings-1234813216/)

“The Goldbergs” (https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/112421-season-8-discussion/?do=getNewComment) returned for season 8 on Wednesday a little later than usual due to COVID-19, and to lower ratings than usual.

One could chalk this up to declining viewing habits during the pandemic, but the ABC comedy dipped around 20% from the previous season premiere, managing a 0.8 rating among adults 18-49 and 4.1 million total viewers. While those figures don’t quite represent a series low, they are down on last season’s 0.9 average Live+Same Day rating and 4.2 million average viewership.

Later on, “The Conners” also neared a series low, with its season 3 premiere scoring a 0.9 rating and 4.8 million viewers. That was followed by “Black-ish” which scored its smallest premiere rating do date, coming in at a 0.6 and just over 3 million pairs of eyeballs. “The Con” scored a 0.5 rating and 2.7 million viewers for the Disney-owned network.

ABC’s premieres were also up against game 2 of the World Series, which saw the Tampa Bay Rays level things up with a 6-4 victory. Game 2 is averaging a 1.8 rating and 7.2 million viewers per fast affiliate numbers. As ever with live sports, those numbers are subject to significant adjustment once more accurate measurements come in later in the day.

Over on NBC, “The Wall” ticked up a touch to a 0.6 rating and 3.5 million total viewers (an 18% viewership bump from last week). However, right after that “American Ninja Warrior” dipped to a 0.4 rating and 2.5 million viewers from a 0.6 and 3.1 million last time around.

“Big Brother” led the way for CBS, coming in at a 0.9 rating and 4.1 million viewers. “The Amazing Race” slowed down a touch from last week’s premiere, delivering a 0.6 rating and 3.2 million viewers. A “S.W.A.T.” replay rounded things off with a 0.3 and 1.7 million.

Over on Telemundo, the 2020 Billboard Latin Music Awards averaged a 0.5 rating and 1.4 million total viewers.

News episodes of “Medicos” and “Imperio De Mentiras” both delivered a 0.4 rating and 1 million viewers for Univision.

“Devils” and “Coroner” both scored a 0.1 rating for CW, with the former drawing just under 700,000 total viewers, and the latter 765,000.

The Goldbergs: so very tired. Every episode is the same. One or all of the kids gets fed up with their overbearing mother, until the end of the episode when they decide that she’s great after all. Until the next episode.

Fans Believe ‘The Goldbergs’ Season 8 Premiere ‘Fell Short’ Of Expectations (https://www.tvshowsace.com/2020/10/27/fans-believe-the-goldbergs-season-8-premiere-fell-short-of-expectations/?fbclid=IwAR3_WWNll6fBjcxTBYMipExt-1Kp4bVN8J5xNMmPZPPd6KNo6I2SQ0m2xRo)

“Honesty, this episode fell short (https://www.reddit.com/r/TheGoldbergs/comments/jjg2n0/the_goldbergs_fans_season_8_premiere_fell_short/). I agree with others that you can tell the change in source material. Without Adam’s stories, the show seems to fall flat. This has to be the last season,” one fan tweeted (https://twitter.com/RouthierJim/status/1320335967237083137).

Some individuals felt some of the characters were a little difficult to digest this season. For starters, we saw a new Adam. He had ditched the glasses, gotten a bit of a tan, and his hair was stylish. Has he joined the cool kids? Truth be told, fans found this version of Adam to be annoying. And, after looking at the kid for seven seasons with glasses… It was pretty hard to watch an episode of him without glasses on.

Other fans were over Barry. He’s not a child anymore. And yet Adam seems to act with more maturity. Will Barry ever grow up? We aren’t sure. But, fans were not really digging the version of Barry we got during the Season 8 Premiere. Barry certainly didn’t feel like someone who was about to go off and become a doctor.
