They got along TOO well. I don't mean incentous, I mean too saccharine relationship. I think Thelma only got mad at Michael once or twice in the ENTIRE Series, one when Michael got an F on a Test or something like that and she acted more like his Pissed off Mother than a Sister. The other time was when she was angry at him for ending up in a Police Station. Most of the time they only said nice things to each other. I found the JJ and Thelma relationship much more realistic. Argue 90 percent of the time, 10 percent show how much they really love each other. JJ and Thelma's Relationship is MANY brother and sister relationships.

But Micheal always did take side of JJ when JJ made fun of Thelma's cooking. One morning he describe Thelma's Oatmeal as good enough to plaster the wall with :D

Oh yeah. I forgot Michael ragged and dragged on Thelma's cooking when I started this thread. I also now remember Michael getting mad at Thelma for harassing JJ who was OBVIOUSLY feeling down on himself already. Even James and Florida were shocked at Thelma in this episode. Even FANS of GT were disgusted by Thelma's antagonizing of someone who was already down A fan said something like,"Thelma should have known that JJ was clearly feeling depressed when he didn't barb her back when she insulted him the first time, but she KEPT going with her insults, disgusting) I think JJ lost an Art Contest or something like that and Thelma was like,"No wonder you lost! You're a LOSER You're a complete joke!" When JJ clearly looked like he was falling apart already. Even I was disgusted by Thelma. Michael said something like,"Thelma, JJ is a talented Artist who is going to be a big success soon. Please stop bothering him!"

That must have been early in the series as Thelma was more vocal, and so was Micheal. They kind of mellowed out as show progressed ad even back each other up in couple episode.

JJ backing up Thelma when she could't decide whether to go live with Larry in LA or not. And Thelma backing up JJ when family discussing whether JJ should paint a nudie. And Micheal and James also supporting JJ in painting A nude female neighbor :D
