I have not had RC cola in years ! I didn't know they still even made it ? :confused:Where did you find it at?
Too be honest , I don't remember one way or another about RC cola ! So I guess it was OK ? I always was more a Coke over Pepsi girl, but Pepsi is OK ! ;) And now I drink Diet Coke ! ;)
TSMIV 07-20-2020, 11:25 PM Haven't had it in a while, but yes I like it and my grandparents loved it. It's pretty easy to find in the southern states; most grocery and convenience stores sell it.
Dude111 07-21-2020, 02:36 AM Found some at Walmart but it doesnt taste like I remember it :(
Its flat (Just about no carbination) and just doesnt taste that good....... All Sodas I guess are crap now...... The stuff I get at whole foods I guess is the best Ill get... (Thats got a bit too much carbonation however)
Stormtracker TF 07-21-2020, 05:01 AM No
Dude111 07-21-2020, 09:53 AM I can see why ya dont like it but it used to taste quite good! (As did coke/pepsi)
Quite sad........
An RC Cola and a Moon pie are popular in the south. In Bell Buckle, Tn. they even have a festival for it. My grandfather and uncle used to really like it but I like Coke better. You can still find it in cans here but the 2 liter bottles are harder to find.
Dude111 02-13-2021, 07:08 PM I found some Orange Soda I like (Stop and Shop brand)
I wish it didnt have HFCS but it doesnt have PHOSPHERIC ACID which is good..... (I dunno if I spelled that right)
RetroGuy2000 02-13-2021, 08:49 PM I used to love RC Cola. It used to be heavily advertised where I lived, and it was common to see all the RC products (Cherry RC, Diet RC, etc) on store shelves, and even RC Cola soda machines. This would have been the 1980s. By the 1990s, Coke and Pepsi had edged them out most everywhere: restaurants began selling exclusive Pepsi or Coke products. Now Dr Pepper, 7 Up, RC, Crush, Sunkist, Canada Dry, Squirt, and A&W are all owned by Dr Pepper, but it's hard to find most of these brands these days.
OH Nuts! 03-07-2021, 11:40 AM Most diet colas I’ve sampled are OK, but Coke Zero rules.

Yes!!! Cherry Coke Zero is my fave followed by Mt. Dew Zero.
I think the last time I tried RC was 20 years or so ago. I didn't like it as a kid and still didn't as an adult. It had a weird, almost salty aftertaste.

Diet RC is OK but like I said plain Coke Zero rules.
Cherry Coke Zero is OK, but after plain Coke Zero my next fav is Diet Dr. Pepper.
Third is A&W Diet Root Beer.

Also love Diet Dr. Pepper. I've never liked Root Beer at all, but my husband swears by Barqu's.

80sTrivia 03-07-2021, 04:24 PM Although I haven't tasted it in a long time, it was never one of my favorites...
dakert 03-07-2021, 06:44 PM I haven't had RC Cola since the 70's but you can not go wrong with Mountain Dew
biffbronson 03-19-2021, 07:03 AM I like most soda pops but hardly ever drink them anymore. When I was young I liked red cream sodas and lemon-lime (sometimes the "Big K" brand from Kroger, lol). My niece likes root beer so sometimes I buy her the "Dad's" brand.
Babalu 03-20-2021, 02:41 PM I haven't had RC Cola since the 70's but you can not go wrong with Mountain Dew
I loved Mountain Dew but when I found out it had far more caffeine than any other soda I reluctantly gave it up. Evidently caffeine gives it its unique taste because they have never come out with a caffeine free version.
biffbronson 03-22-2021, 04:05 PM That's interesting. I didn't realize that either.
There was also a story about a teen who drank Mountain Dew constantly and really ruined his oral health. Of course that was an isolated case and other brands and types could also cause trouble.
KurtfromPitts 03-31-2021, 10:50 AM I think RC is just as good as the two leading colas, though I nowadays buy Shasta Cola.
GentlemanJim 03-31-2021, 01:48 PM RC cola was/is a good product, although as a spoiled brat I always preferred Coke, and as a consequence always felt like I was conceding when RC was all that was available.
I also used to enjoy Double Cola. I had grown up also drinking A&W and Dad's root beer, but around age 29 I had my first experience with IBC root beer. There really is no comparison. IBC rocks!
Flying Dutchman 04-09-2021, 08:41 AM I used to drink it as a kid. It was popular in Southern California, mostly for the Look caps. You'd win free sodas and money too.
