View Full Version : This needs a DVD release!
Wildchats 07-20-2020, 09:09 AM With Head Of The Class getting one, Step By Step, et. this is one of the last few long running sitcoms that needs a release.
I'm guessing they only release season 1 and then stop, as the audience just isn't there. I bet they'll do the same to Head Of The Class. However, it would be nice to get a season 1 release of this. It's way overdue!
Fallon97 07-20-2020, 07:58 PM I would love to see this show on DVD.
OH Nuts! 07-20-2020, 09:07 PM Amen to that! (Pun intended!)
Wawwie 07-20-2020, 09:37 PM I'd definitely get the complete series!

TVFactFan 07-25-2020, 03:03 PM The fact that Sherman Hemsley and Clifton Davis is involved it's surprising that the show is not complete on DVD

Excellent point. Wonder what the key companies producing TV Show DVD sets are waiting for?

That is so not right. You would think they would want to put out another hit series featuring Sherman Hemsley.

And it lasted 5 seasons not 2

The stories were so much better and the cast was super talented. It is quite puzzling as to why this series is not complete on dvd. I also want Too Close For Comfort and 227!

Old School 09-06-2021, 02:15 PM It's 2021...what's the hold up for real? This was a very solid show with a great cast and a lot of good episodes.
Amen is an American sitcom produced by Carson Productions that aired on NBC from September 27, 1986 to May 11, 1991. Amen was sold into syndication shortly after finishing its run on NBC and Universal Pictures' MCA Television unit was awarded the syndication rights; it went on to have a prolonged run in off-network syndication that lasted into the 21st century. Syndication rights are now in the hands of Comcast through its NBCUniversal Television Distribution division.

With Comcast in the picture I doubt we will ever see a DVD release. I bet Comcast uses it as leverage to get people to subscribe to a paid tier of Peacock.

I used to watch it on youtube. Now, I can catch it on weekday mornings on GetTv from 9 am to 10 am. I love this show. If the full series ever came out on DVD, I would surely buy it.

Hardly any sitcoms are on youtube anymore. I think it is all related to these media companies trying to make the most money they can from streaming.

Reverend Johnny was funny. The episode "Dueling Reverends" was hilarious when Johnny and Ruben were trying to out-do eachother after that funeral.

The kid who played Reverend Johnny was a really good actor and he was awesome and very convincing as a Reverend.
BTW, who do you think won in the battle of the Dueling Reverends? I would call it a tie between Ruben and Johnny.
