View Full Version : Does Anyone Know What MeTV's Most Watched Programs Are?
Greenbeans 07-14-2020, 06:43 PM Has anyone seen the books? They don't release it so all you can go by is what stays on the air.
My guess is Svengoolie - MASH - Andy Griffith - Perry Mason - Leave it to Beaver.
Just a guess. If anyone has seen the ratings please chime in.
tvfan25 07-14-2020, 08:50 PM I watch The Andy Griffith Show, Green Acres, Gomer Pyle USMC and Happy Days.
BigManMike 07-14-2020, 10:04 PM Probably Hogan’s Heroes. It just won’t leave that same spot.
PhoenixAcres 07-14-2020, 10:33 PM Probably Hogan’s Heroes. It just won’t leave that same spot.
Yeah I agree. The ratings must be off the charts if they've kept it in the same time slot for half a decade.
Charley Knox 07-14-2020, 10:34 PM Pretty sure it is a toss up between TAGS and MASH. Other popular shows include, Perry Mason the afternoon/weekend westerns, Svengoolie, Columbo and probably Matlock.
Might be living in denial, but just can't let myself believe that Hogan Heroes is a ratings winner. Really hate that stupid show! If you seen one episode, you have seen everyone of them.
treky 07-15-2020, 02:36 AM well, OBVIOUSLEY MASH and HOGANS HEROES.
But I would guess also Perry Mason, Svenghoullie, Columbo, Bonanza and Gunsmoke.
AMackII 07-15-2020, 07:23 AM Svengoolie, Columbo, M*A*S*H, Gunsmoke, Perry Mason & Matlock are primarily MeTV's most watched in my opinion
Greenbeans 07-15-2020, 12:37 PM I'm pretty sure Svengoolie is #1 - he tweeted awhile back (3 or 4 months I think) he smashed MeTV's most watched broadcast of all time.
I also have no idea how Hogan's Heroes stays on the air, so it must be doing good in the ratings.
Charley Knox 07-15-2020, 01:16 PM A few years back, I was paid a few bucks to keep a Neilson logbook. In the comment section, I went out of my way to express purposely not watching Hogan Heroes on METV.
I think they just keep the show on to please that SI goon Peter King. In one of his MMQB articles, he gave the show and METV a mention.
Mirrors on the ceiling
The pink champagne on ice
And she said, "We are all just prisoners here of our own device"
And in the master's chambers
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives
But they just can't kill the beast~Hotel California

There was an interview with Neal Sabin of METV earlier this year where he discusses successful and unsuccessful shows on METV. I supplied the link (hope the interview is still available). I don't like Hogan's Heroes but I think next to TAGS it's the most popular sitcom rerun of the 60's.

Old School 07-16-2020, 03:24 AM Most likely the 3 shows that I am sick and tired of viewing- MASH, Hogan's Heroes & The Andy Griffith Show.
Why is Saved By The Bell even shown on MeTV? Are the ratings for it that good?
MeTV's entire schedule format has gotten beyond stale and is geared toweards people who can't remember watching the same episodes over and over again.

It qualifies as E/I programming and probably gets better ratings than other shows that qualify.

Mutual Of Omaha's Wild Kingdom would be a better schedule selection than Saved By The Bell for and educational credit in my mind but what do I really know...
Saved By The Bell started in 1989 at that. How about Room 222? Or Head Of The Class? Or Welcome Back Kotter?
