I started watching the episode Dance Contest which is written by Bob Howard, and it would seem strange that they'd have someone else by the last name Howard who worked for the show with the same last name as one of the cast members and not be related. I know Ron only had one brother named Clint, and none of his kids probably were either not born yet or old enough to write an episode which would be a challenge for my writing skills even though I'm the same age as Wayne Brady so is he a cousin or uncle of Ron's?

He's no relation to Ron Howard but he is the same person who came up with the zany stunts for the original version of the game show Beat the Clock. He worked with Frank Wayne, who also produced Password and the successful Price is Right revival.

I should also point out that Bob Howard wrote six other Happy Days episodes, including Howard's Bowling Buddy.

The neat thing about Dance Contest is that we got to see the real life Mr. C so to speak because Ron Howard's real life dad Vance made a cameo in that episode.

That's neat. Who did he play?

He played the announcer for the dance contest that Marion was entering on television.

Would have been my guess. Thanks. I'll look him up later. Don't remember what he looks like.

He passed away by now, but he had his share of fun in the spotlight.

Bob Howard is my grandfather! We are not related to Ron Howard in any way . My grandfather was a comedy that started his career working with Bob Hope:)

Besides comedy writing...he wrote political speeches for LBJ and Nixon!
