When she pulls up to the curb after taking the road test there is no one in the back of the car. I’m sure her parent wasn’t in the front seat. She didn’t get her license so did she walk home?

They didn’t want to pay an extra.

Hank came by and picked her up. They hooked up with Marlene and her guy, raised a few mugs at Hank's Place, and he took her home.

Great Answer ... (and took her to inspiration point, wishful thinking) {wrong show**

Shirley was, once again, a cute ringer brought in with a edge of sorts - as you pointed out she was possibly, more of a wise lass know it all girl, vs the Mary Ellen Rodgers type +-

Actually there was just a Father Knows Best episode on Antenna TV today, involving inspiration point. Ron Ely played a guy pursuing Betty.

Wait a minute. Ward didn’t go on the road test with Wally so maybe Mr. Fletcher was waiting inside. Wonder if Shirley was the trash man's daughter. Beaver said there were two sisters.

Shirley was the trash man's daughter and Duke was Mrs. Hathaway's (Aunt Martha's traveling pal) son. And all the Harrisons and Thompsons were related.

Like The Pruitts of Southampton so goes the Thompsons of Mayfield.
