I was glad when Marcus left the show. He was so awful and annoying. That guy was a horrible actor.

I sorta liked Leroy. He could have stayed.

Do you know why Alan #1 left. He was so much better than Alan #2 who could be pretty damn annoying. Still, he wasn't as bad as Marcus. Marcus was the worst, then Alan #2.

Yes! That is your next mission!

Reading the Jeffersons Book now and I am closing in on why Alan left the show as I am completing season 4. I just found out the real reason Damon Evans left and it was because he was fired for being late for the taping of Lionel Gets the Business"

So that's why we never see him after that episode again. lol

Read all through season 5 and 6 and they never mentions why Jay Hammer was no longer on the show. Just how Mike Evans ended up back on the show and that Jay Hammer was a soap opera star who took the role as Alan Willis but not why he left. And it wasnt because of another show because after the Jeffersons, he wasnt acting for 2 years, 1979 to 1981

I did not like Jay Hammer's acting at all. I liked the first Alan much better. He was actually pretty cool. Alan #2 (Jay) was incredibly annoying IMO.

"Alan" and "Jenny" were both miscast. Neither one of them looked bi-racial.

Alan #1 was definitely more believable because he was darker and had thicker hair, but he still looked like a total white and "Jenny" looked like a total black.

Jenny looked like Helen's daughter she had with a black guy.

Poor Tom was cheated on!

But I think Jenny looked so black because Berlinda did such a good job as Jenny. Therefore the producers thought the audience wouldn't care that Jenny wasn't biracial and they were right!

You serious??

The first Alan was a toothpick who looked like he was on drugs or something because he appeared drowsy or sleepy.

Jay Hammer did a good job as Alan & I'm surprised they didn't use him more.

Helen Willis' (Roxie Roker's) real life son (Lenny Kravitz) is bi-racial, a white dad. Lenny Kravitz definitely looks bi-racial. Jenny doesn't. I agree. Poor Tom was cheated on. Helen had an affair with Leroy from Jefferson Cleaners.

Alan #1 was very skinny, just like Helen. Jay Hammer looked completely white and his mannerisms seemed forced. Alan #1 seemed more natural to me. He did not look bi-racial either, but he wasn't as white as the Jay Hammer "Alan."

Wow! So that's why??

I'm really surprised Damon would jeopardize the $30K or $40K per episode he was getting! He could've gotten an alarm clock for pete's sake!

I really doubt he could've made such good money as an opera singer.

He did it on purpose so he could get fired because he didnt want to be on the show anymore
