Chris McCarthy, whom Viacom put in charge of Comedy Central about six months ago, is trying to remake the cable network into a multi-platform content machine that appeals to the hard-to-reach demographic of viewers under the age of 25. That's why he recently ordered a Gen Z version of Beavis and Butt-Head (https://www.primetimer.com/item/Beavis-and-Butt-Head-is-getting-a-Generation-Z-reboot-on-Comedy-Central-jnSBqz) and a reboot of Clone High, while officially greenlighting long-gestating Daria spinoff Jodie. “Gen Z is what we’re working on at Comedy Central today,” says the 45-year-old McCarthy. “It’s a generation I’m actually very comfortable with — my first network was MTV2, where we did comedy for Gen Z. They’re empowered. They’re resourceful. And they’re not looking for permission or gatekeepers. In many ways, they’re a DIY generation. And it’s that spirit that we will bring to the way that we’re reimagining Comedy Central.”

I remember the days when there were 2 seperate channels (The comedy channel and HA!) and then merged to become Comedy Central- "When Comedy Central" was fun- The good old 80"s :)
I gave up on Comedy Central along time ago....Now it's really going to swim with the sharks.

Comedy Central has been a worthless channel since they cancelled Win Ben Stein's Money. That show doesn't need revived, but if they would just air repeats that would be nice.

I imagine this means more original content for mobile and streaming apps. With so many cutting the cord, this doesn't feel like much of a big deal if you're going after Gen Z.
