"Katy Keene" Cancelled at The CW after One Season; Will Look for New Home

The CW has opted not to proceed with a second season of "Katy Keene".

Warner Bros. Television, the studio behind the "Riverdale" spin-off headlined by Lucy Hale, is planning to explore options for keeping the show going.



Lucy Hale posted her reaction to the cancellation on her Instagram and gave a shout-out to the cast, crew “and all involved,” acknowledging, “I love the show.”

“Sad to deliver this news ! But I love the show. I love what it stands for. And mostly I love YOU. To the cast, crew, and all involved… adore you.”

"Hi guys, this is take ... I've had to do this a couple times just because I was a blubbering mess, and y'all don't want to see that," Hale began a video posted to Instagram following news that The CW canceled the Riverdale spinoff after one season. "So, I kind of struggled all day with what I wanted to say about this, or if I shouldn't say anything or ... nothing felt right."

"I was sad about it for a week. I'm still sad about it. But I was really sad for a week," Hale tells ET. "And I made my peace with it. I was like, 'Get it together, Lucy. You had a great time.' Nothing will take away from what I consider a really great season. I would rather do one awesome season that people loved than do, like, six that people are like, 'Oh god, let it end already!'
