What do you think is the best debut album ever? As a starting point, I used a Rolling Stone magazine list, circa 2013. Obviously you don't have to pick one of those.

1. Beastie Boys - ‘Licensed to Ill’ (1986)
2. The Ramones’ - The Ramones (1976)
3. Jimi Hendrix Experience -‘Are You Experienced’ (1967)
4. Guns N' Roses -Appetite for Destruction’ (1987)
5. The Velvet Underground -‘The Velvet Underground and Nico’ (1967)
6. N.W.A -‘Straight Outta Compton’ (1988)
7. The Sex Pistols- ‘Never Mind the Bollocks’ (1977)
8. The Strokes-‘Is This It’ (2001)
9. The Band - ‘Music From Big Pink’ (1968)
10. Patti Smith- ‘Horses’ (1975)

Kris Kristofferson - Me and Bobby McGee (1970)

Probably the equal to anything the Beatles or anyone else ever made.

I've heard many awesome debut albums but if asked to name the best one, I'd have to say it's the self titled 1980 melodic southern hard rock album by the band Scram. It's also the one and only album from this band but wow what an album it is, these guys really had their stuff together when they recorded this album. It's melodic hard rock, southern style with a hint of the blues. Sort of like a cross between AC/DC and Lynyrd Skynyrd. If Scram had recorded a 2nd album, would probably have been pretty difficult to top the debut album, that's how good it is.
