If this question was already asked then link me to the thread please. if Nancy Mckeon was in season 1 playing the Jo character while they were cutting the cast, would Nancy survive the cast along with Lisa, Kim, and Mindy or would she have become a Lost Girl?

But if Nancy M. increased the ratings of the show in Season 1, then they wouldn't have had to make all those cuts or have fewer of them.

This is a very interesting question. I feel sure she would have been chosen to stay.

But then there would have been one more girl, making the roster of Mrs. Garrett's charges 8. The scripts would most likely still have been terribly unbalanced, and Felice would have barely gotten 2 words in some shows.

Kari Michaelsen explained how they balanced out the roles on Gimme a Break in a recent broadcast. Gimme a Break had a large cast (The 3 girls, Dad, Grandpa, Nell, Joey, Addy, even Simpson). Kari explained some shows she had a large role and other shows her character had minor parts. They tried balance things out between the various actors. She seemed happy on how they did it.

I think it would have made FOL more interesting having JO added as an extra to the 7 girls.
(i'm actually writing a story about it, and will very soon post it on the FOL Fanfiction site)

Warren Littlefield was already describing the seven-girl cast as "ten, twelve girls", and freaking out about the size of the cast. He reminds me of Miles Silverberg on Murphy Brown. Imagine if there had actually been eight girls! "Murphy! Murphy! There's twelve, fourteen girls on the set! We can't have twelve, fourteen girls on this set! Do something!"
