Jimmy Kimmel to Take Summer Break; ABC Late-Night Show will Feature Guest Hosts

Jimmy Kimmel is taking a break from his late-night ABC talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live!".
“I’m taking the summer off to spend even more time with my family. I’ve been doing this job for almost 18 years, I’ve done 3130 shows. There’s nothing wrong. I’m healthy, my family’s healthy, I just need a couple of months off. While I’m gone, a cavalcade a very kind and capable people will be filming in with me,” he said.
Shows featuring guest hosts will start Monday, July 6 after a two week hiatus.

I don't get how in the world Jimmy Kimmel is so popular and how Jimmy Kimmel Live manages to survive in ratings. I think the main reason why Jimmy Kimmel is taking the summer off and having guest hosts do his show is because he's very afraid that once he comes back ABC will tell Jimmy he won't have a show anymore and he wants to leave for the summer so they will let him keep his show? The main thing that's very annoying about Jimmy Kimmel Live from what i've seen is that he has celebrities that take up the whole show talking their upcoming show or movie and constantly annoy Jimmy with stuff like "see my movie" or " don't forget to watch my show". I also cannot figure out why he gets stars like Chris Pratt to guest host his show because I saw Chris Pratt guest host I found Chris very annoying and although he may be cute Barley is an annoying talk show host. But I think Jimmy will be a long lasting star at ABC due to his talk show's success
