View Full Version : So they was trying to spinoff Tootie's Aunt, a character that FOL fans TVFactFan 06-16-2020, 06:28 PM never seen before? who the hell was going to watch that? anyone diehard FOL fans know the story behind this episode? Wawwie 06-16-2020, 06:44 PM This episode was definitely an attempt at a spin off series that never happened. Personally, I thought Sylvia and Brian were boring. '80sSitcoms 06-16-2020, 06:59 PM "Hi! My name is '80sSitcoms and I like 'Brian and Sylvia'!" Yes, this was the first time we ever saw or heard of Aunt Sylvia. But that happens a lot with spin-offs or spin-off attempts, introducing characters for the first time. They did it in the other Facts spin-off attempts "Jo's Cousin", in "The Academy", in "Big Apple Blues", and "The Golden Girls" introduced new characters in the backdoor pilot for "Empty Nest" (which was a GG episode called "Empty Nests", plural). Wawwie 06-16-2020, 07:09 PM "The Golden Girls" introduced new characters in the backdoor pilot for "Empty Nest" (which was a GG episode called "Empty Nests", plural).Unlike the others, that one (Empty Nest) actually happened. valentina warner 06-16-2020, 07:48 PM I kind of liked the 'Brian and Sylvia' episode: the one who played TOOTIE's auntie was very pretty, and she had a good chemistry with the MACGYVER (i can't remember his real name) guy!!!!! TVFactFan 06-16-2020, 07:59 PM Unlike the others, that one (Empty Nest) actually happened. I see it was a HIT too the first 3 seasons 80s Dude 06-16-2020, 08:26 PM Many fans rate Brian and Sylvia as the worst episode in the series. Me too. '80sSitcoms 06-16-2020, 08:55 PM I see it was a HIT too the first 3 seasons In the top 10 those three, plus it was 23 in season 4. It would have ranked higher in season 4 and the other later seasons if it hadn't moved time slots on Saturday nights (same for "The Golden Girls" in their final season). TVFactFan 06-16-2020, 09:32 PM Many fans rate Brian and Sylvia as the worst episode in the series. Me too. Im not surprised since it didnt have any of the original cast members Lorimar Television 06-16-2020, 09:42 PM Im not surprised since it didnt have any of the original cast members It had Natalie and Tootie throughout '80sSitcoms 06-16-2020, 10:20 PM Im not surprised since it didnt have any of the original cast members Yeah, it has Natalie and Tootie through most of it. That's part of what makes it the best spin-off attempt IMO. Some of other ones don't have much of the girls in them. I like to think it wouldn't be voted fans' "worst episode". I would think a later season one would be. Wawwie 06-16-2020, 10:46 PM Yeah, it has Natalie and Tootie through most of it. That's part of what makes it the best spin-off attempt IMO. In my opinion the spin-off attempt with Jo's cousins and uncle was the best attempt. RetroGuy2000 06-16-2020, 11:01 PM Yeah, it has Natalie and Tootie through most of it. '80sSitcoms 06-16-2020, 11:14 PM ...Like the David Spade spin-off. Could be! lol But a lot of folks do tend to zoom in on poor Aunt S. and Uncle B., lol. Lorimar Television 06-16-2020, 11:20 PM The lost girl spin off with Sue Ann as the lead was my fav ;) RetroGuy2000 06-16-2020, 11:49 PM The lost girl spin off with Sue Ann as the lead was my fav ;) Yeah, I would totally have watched that. Lorimar Television 06-17-2020, 02:26 AM Yeah, I would totally have watched that. Yes me too! :D valentina warner 06-17-2020, 03:36 PM Yes: SUE ANN as the lead from the 'Lost girls' is good!!!! |
