2 months before One Day at a Time premiered on CBS in 1975. Pretty much was acting the same way she does on ODAAT just with a different name

And Richard Masur (David) also did an episode. And even bigger, Nanette Fabray, who played Ann Romano’s mother, also played Mary’s mother. So Ann and Mary were spiritual TV half siblings.

Yes, I had seen that MTM ep. with MacKenzie Phillips ! ;) She always seems to play bad girl type roles ! She was in a movie called "Go ask Alice " in the early 70's before she was on MTM or ODAAT , playing a teenage runaway druggy!!

And I was definitely shocked to see the black girl on MTM who was on Good Times as a robber. That was definitely a surprise

Don't you love how we can see different actors and actresses after all these years turning up on different shows? :)It is so much fun watching old TV shows and spotting the same ones on various shows ! ;)

Three's Company's "Dean Travers" was on an episode of Diff'rent Strokes today. He played a bartender.

That guy’s also on a One Day At Time episode (Connors Crisis).

And of course Suzanne Somers and Richard Kline from TC also are on different ODAAT episodes.

Right, I remember Suzanne on the episode "Julie's Job" and now I remember Richard Kline as some supervisor when Barbara's young friend wanted a job... the kid who was Barbara's tutor, then her boss at the sporting goods store. I can't remember Dean Travers in "Connors Crisis" though. Was he a bartender in that one too? When Schneider and Connor were drinking at the bar? Maybe that's what I'm thinking of.

Mackenzie Phillips was awesome in the movie "American Graffiti" as "Carol" the bratty 13 or 14 year old. That movie was a few years before One Day At A Time. She was always great at acting.

She made her character so believable unlike those dumb facts of life girls from season 1 who were cut

lol

Mackenzie was definitely the more talented actor.

Her and Pat Harrington were the big names on the show when ODAAT premiered. She from American Graffiti and her family background , him from his previous decades on television.
