The Karate Kid sequel series, which marked YouTube's first scripted series, will have a new home for Season 3. Cobra Kai is set to become the third YouTube scripted series to move to another network or streaming platform after On Becoming a God in Central Florida and, as of earlier today, Step Up: High Water (https://www.primetimer.com/item/Step-Up-is-getting-a-Starz-reboot-with-Tricia-Helfer-one-year-after-YouTubes-cancelation-JWSG42). According to Deadline, YouTube is releasing Cobra Kai to Sony TV as it moves away from scripted original programming. "Sony TV had taken Cobra Kai out, with all major streamers expressing interest, sources said," reports Deadline's Nellie Andreeva. "I hear the field of suitors has been narrowed down, with Netflix and Hulu leading the short list of contenders for the Karate Kid sequel series, starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka."
