From 1988-1991, Dana Delany starred in the TV show China Beach. Naturally when the show ended, Delany did what TV actors do. She tried to make it into movies. After relatively small roles in HouseSitter and Tombstone, Delany landed her first leading role in an adaptation of Anne Rice’s erotic novel, Exit to Eden. In order to make the subject matter more appealing to the masses, the movie was directed by Gary Marshall and featured Dan Aykroyd and Rosie O’Donnell in supporting roles.
In short, it was a disaster. Before the movie was ignored by most and repressed by those who actually saw it, Delany discussed her first starring role with Movieline magazine for the August 1994 issue.
