The first season of the series was a partial season with only 5 episodes so maybe that has something to do with it. Also wasn't Ray having an affair with Lucy who as we will learn in a later season turns out to be his niece, for continuity purposes maybe it was decided to remove that part of history from the Ewing clan.

CBS doesn't have it at all. Imdb.TV has every season, but they have combined the short 5 episode first season with season 2. Digger's Daughter is the premiere episode.
