Does Bob Hearts Abishola = Mike & Molly?

Think about it ....

It's a romantic comedy. Again. He plays the fat funny love interest. Again.

The guys in the diner are traded for the girls (nurses) in their facility and/or the funny Nigerian gentlemen in the factory.

Two sets of family - instead of Molly's mom and sister, we have the aunt and uncle - oh and Bob's family of course.

Anyone? Or is it just me seeing similarities?

Yeah I can see the connection. Now we just need a wedding to cinch it.

Its not exactly the same but it did follow a similar formula. That's ok, do what works.

The actor who plays Bob (Billy Gardell) is very similar to Mike. One could almost make a spin-off of Mike and Molly (with Molly getting hit by a bus and died), and Mike goes to the hospital with Carl and Molly’s mother and sister, met Abishola and went from there.

There is nothing wrong with being one dimensional, Don Knotts was also this way. Some actors basically play different shades of the same person, and Gardell is an example of that.

I can see the show's similarities to Mike & Molly. Both shows were produced by Chuck Lorre and like Mike & Molly, Bob and Abishola got married.
