Note that Lisa wrote to Charlotte in 1979. Charlotte's son said it was right after the FOL pilot, but the date of the note tells me it was after Season 1a (the Miss Mahoney era) when they didn't know if the show was going to be renewed for the rest of the 1979-80 season.

It's such a nice note, and it's telling that Charlotte kept it all those decades. Four decades. Awwww!!!!

Neat find. 1979 seems like ancient history now that we are in 2020. I'm 1 year older than that note.....LOL

I miss the 1970s and 1980s. I guess that's why I'm so nostalgic about the shows.

Wow that really made my day: having my two favourite actresses/characters bond so well!!! (Thank you 80s for sharing that sweet letter LISA wrote to her mentor CHARLOTTE, and the fact that she kept it is so heartwarming!!!!).

That written letter from LISA came straight out of her heart lol!:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

What a nice letter. I guess Charlotte gave it back to her years later?

From what i understood, CHARLOTTE kept LISA's letter until her death: otherwise, how could have her son told everyone about it? (she must have kept it under her belongings)present:present:present:

Nope! Charlotte never let her have it back!

Right! This photo is from the Charlotte episode of "Collector's Call" where Charlotte's son Larry Strauss took a look at his mother's collection of personal/Hollywood things. :)

Charlotte was a hoarder as many people in the living during the depression were. Lisa is the opposite, she throws things away and had almost nothing from the show until fairly recently.

I wouldn't call Charlotte a "hoarder". She kept things from her career with personal meaning.

Lisa didn't throw things away. She never took anything home in the first place. She wishes she had grabbed one of those Eastland pennants. ("They were all over the set!")
