Maybe y'all can think of some ideas for soap opera and post them here. There hevn't been many new soaps premiering lately so I figured maybe someone can see what we post.....Here's mine:

Name: The Ways of Our Days
Plot: The trials and tribulations of the citzens of Golden City.
Characters:
Laura Hopkins, the city millionairess
Doris Adams, the neighborhood busybody
Robert Montgomery, the city two-timer

I'll think of more characters. I might even make it a fanfic series.....

I created my first "soap opera" as a kid. It was called The Drifting Clouds! I had quite the vivid imagination as a child. I would carry a portable tape recorder with me and my sister and I would tape the dialouge that I had "written". I wish I still had those tapes as I bet I would get a big laugh out of them today!

"As The Days Of Our General Children's Lives Turn"

Episode 478

The pastoral people of Sunnyshade were shocked to learn that it's most prominant citizen Hunter Greene, patriarch of the Greene family and head of the Greene Publishing empire, has lost another wife. Hunter's third wife Kelly Greene has been reported missing in the South Pacific. Kelly, a globetrotting former cheerleader/photojournalist and editor of Elitist Magazine was scouting locations for an upcoming swimsuit issue when her plane lost both wings, tail, propeller, front wheels and then altitude, crashing somewhere in the lush jungles of Polpony, a small banana republic known for its beaches and malaria, their chief export.
How will this affect the Greene family and other members of this prestigious community?
What of Hunters twin daughters Tyler and Skyler? Will Skyler see this as an opportunity to take over Elitist Magazine, a job that was rightfully hers before it was given to her trophy wife stepmother and former college roommate?
And what of Tyler? Will this bring her closer to her estranged father, who has barely acknowleged her since her marriage to Brock Stockton, a hard working but dirt poor hang gliding instructor from the wrong side of the tracks?
And who can forget Cutter Stone, golf pro at the Sunny Shade country club? Can he get back on the PGA tour while grieving over the loss of his lover Kelly? Will he cure his slice? Can he charge Hunter Stone for the golf lessons his dead wife will miss?
Will Hunter Stone marry again?
What about the dead gardener in the boathouse?
Is Brock the father of Cutter's sister's baby?
Did the poolman walk the dalmations?

Tune in next time for many many more questions...

Hmm well lemme think...
Title: All My Kittens (The characters aren't cats btw :D )
Plot: It would begin by introuducing the Dueteronomy/White Family and the events of their "boring" *coughnotcough* lives.
Characters:
James Family
Dueteronomy James: leader of Jellicle Isle.
Rebecca James: Seventh wife of Dueteronomy.
Jennifer (Jenny) James: Daughter of Dueteronomy and Rebecca.
Annabella James: Daughter of Dueteronomy and his sixth wife.
Grizelda James: Daughter of Dueteronomy and his sixth wife.
White Family
Gus White: Half brother of Dueteronomy and famous actor.
Kathleen White: Gus's wife.
Gus White: Their son.
Others
Jillian Lorum: Young actress who dreams of working with Gus (the older one).
Burton Jones: Wealthy young and engaged to Jenny.
Bradley Sanders: Town trouble maker whos main goal in life is to marry Annabella and take over Jellicle Isle.
Growltiger Sanders: Bradleys brother who also has not so nice plans of his own.

If this is sounding like a cats the musical fan fiction well um I admit its sort of based on it but the characters aren't cats and um erm.

Here's,for what it is worth,is my idea for a Soap:
The Schumachers of Reading,Pa.,about a family of immigrant
German miners who settle down in northeastern Pennsylvania
at the turn of the Twentieth century and their struggles to
adjust to American culture and make it in their new country.

Cast of Characters:

Joseph Peter Schumacher, the 49 year old patriarch of the
family. He suffers from black lung disease from decades working
in the mines in both Germany and America.

Carlotta Strum Schumacher,Joseph's 34 year old second wife.

Hans Johann "Johnny" Schumacher,Joseph's 24 year old oldest
son by his late first wife. The bread winner of the family now that
his father is too ill to work.

Bertha Angelina Schumacher,Joseph's only daugther age 13.
A bit of a tomboy.

Cornelius Jan Schumacher, the 15 year old rebellious younger
son of Joseph.

Rev.Isaac Kulp, minister of the local Reformed Lutheran church.

Miss Ida Klein,the local schoolteacher.Age 22.Has a secret love
affair with Johnny which if found out would end her career.

Petey James,an orphan who is mildly ********.Bertha's best
friend.

Jurgen Van Der Kemp, the owner of the Big Star mines that
Johnny and earlier Joseph work at when they come to America.

The dialogue would have to be part in German, part in Penn Dutch
and part in English to make it interesting.Of course it would also
have to be made entirely in northeastern Pennsylvania for
relaities sake!!!!!;)

Okay, get this. The family is a less-than-normal mid-west family. The father joined the military when he was 18, so he never had a chance to go to college, and the mother had a child when she was 18, so the same happened to her. (Oddly enough, the mother had the child with one man, (not the aforementioned father), and then married his cousin!) Eventually, the mother had two more children with her ex's cousin, a boy and a girl (who are ages 15 and 14 respectively).

First, the eldest daughter got pregnant with a guy when she was seventeen. Then, she told another guy that he was the father, even though he wasn't. And then, this guy got very abusive; and, after following his girlfriend, her mother, aunt, brother, and son and trying to hit them, and after getting in a confrontation with the girlfriend's mother, the girlfriend decides not to see them anymore. (Because, for some freaky reason, she enjoyed being beat...)

Then, the youngest daughter got into a lot of trouble. She drinks, smokes, and gets into trouble with the law. She is just a trouble maker. She is never home, and you never know what she is doing. She goes out with men in their twenties, and is sexually active. She is just a bad seed through and through. She isn't all that nice, and has a horrible temper.

Then, the mother has a sister who steals from her dead aunt. This sister had separated herself from the family, but, after returning, only dug herself into a bigger hole than before. The family isn't very close to her, and she lives in Florida. But, when she is around, it isn't the nicest thing to see.

Then, of course, there is the secluded son; while he does have several friends, he spends much of hsi time at home. He is basically the polar opposite of his younger sister; while she always goes out, he stays home. While she does poorly in school, he gets above a 4.0. While she's in normal classes, he's in advanced classes. He would be the main character, the person connecting all of the action.

You may ask me how I thought of all this weird, freaky stuff. Well, oddly enough, everything in it is part of my life. (Albeit, it happens over greater periods of time in my life.)

:bump

I admittedly created my own soap opera and worked on it from maybe 20 years ago up to like 10 years ago. It was titled “The Family That Stays Together” and was centered around the trials and tribulations of the wealthy yet dysfunctional Hedison, Brewster, Young, and Walden families. I never wrote anything on paper, but I came up with the storylines and plots. The Hedison family was headed by this ruthless, destructive Victor Newman-like patriarch named Bruce Hedison, who was founder and CEO of Hedison Enterprises. Bruce was married to his God-fearing, caring but passive-aggressive wife named Melody Hedison, and together, they had three children: Mackenzie Hedison, Rick Hedison, and Todd Hedison. Bruce would begin to have an affair with blonde-haired psycho Amanda Cox, who was out to destroy Melody and become Mrs. Bruce Hedison. The Brewster family was headed by warm yet sometimes gullible patriarch James “Jim” Brewster who was married to a manipulative, scheming, presumptuous, much younger Maggie Brewster and was founder and CEO of Brewster Cosmetics. Jim had three children (Joshua, Abby, and Hilary Brewster) from his previous marriage. Joshua was the irritable, spoiled, irresponsible playboy turned businessman type, Abby was the sassy, no-nonsense one, and Hilary was the passionate, kind one. Jim and Maggie’s marriage would be short lived and they would eventually get a divorce after Maggie’s affair with Joshua. The African-American Young family was headed by Reginald Young, who was married to cold, feisty, catty, and homophobic Valerie Young, who would always harass and belittle their gay son, Myron. Reginald and Valerie had two other children: Raven and Trevor. Towards the end of the show, it would be revealed that Raven’s actual father was Reginald’s brother, Adrian. The Walden family was headed by alcoholic, vindictive, raging Sheridan Walden, who feuded with Maggie Brewster, similar to Katherine and Jill from Y&R. Sheridan and Maggie’s feud, which was ignited by Maggie’s affair with Sheridan’s late husband years back, would dissipate for a brief second when it would be revealed that Sheridan was Maggie’s long lost biological mother, however, I decided to undo that by explaining that Maggie’s real mother lied about her being adopted and being Sheridan’s daughter and ended up tampering with the DNA tests, making Maggie believe that she was the daughter of Sheridan. Sheridan had one son named Benjamin Walden and another named Jake Morton, who got to know her years after she gave him up for adoption. There were some unrealistic and far fetched elements to the show, like Amanda Cox’s father, Romeo Cox (who was the cuckoo doctor/inventor of the show), making a time machine and giving the characters a ride in it. He also came up with some type of “love potion” and had Todd Hedison falling for Myron. Plus, to get into the typical soap opera habits, I had the Amanda Cox character burn down The Hedisons’ home before leaving town and returning two years later played by a totally different actress, then getting killed off ten months later in a “Who Shot Amanda and Threw Her Over A Bridge?” story, despite returning like five years later with the original actress playing her again. I could picture my soap opera being on FOX or OWN if it was ever sold if it couldn’t make it to CBS, ABC, or NBC.
