Before teaming up with Disney to create blockbuster movies such as Toy Story and Onward a fact that most people don't even realize and know about Pixar is that before creating short films and movies that they created commercials and the very first commercials that Pixar created were commercials for Trident Gum. And based on that commercial alone would make Pixar a successful company and a huge household name. In 1994 before making a successful start with Disney with Toy Story Pixar created the Gummi Savers commercial for Lifesavers and I bet Lifesavers paid Pixar a lot of money to create these commercials that would prepare Pixar for superstardom in the world of animation. I often wonder if the late Steve Jobs and Pixar founder John Lassiter worked in advertising and got the idea to create computer animated commercials for companies?

Hi, Bestie! I think Pixar should make more commercials. They made good ones with Trident. Do you think Disney will let them make more commercials?

Pixar also designed many commercials for Listerine Mouthwash in the 80's as well. Here's a well known secret that you may not know about Pixar that you might discover the next time you watch Toy Story 2. In the scene where the Toy Story gang is searching through the TV stations to find the Al's Toy Barn commercial to identify Woody's kidnapper take your remote and set it in slow mode and watch while Hamm channel surfs on the TV the channels on the TV set are actually clips from Pixar created commercials and a clip of a Listerine commercial is also featured as well
