Barney suffered from a lot of plot inconsistences as well, starting w/Dottie the Hooker. It looked like him and 'Laura' had really hit it off, but she was never seen nor heard from again.

Nope this was another in a long line of stories, ie Stephanie becoming a cheerleader, Roger the Accountant, Dottie, etc etc that were dropped like they never happened. Barn was soon pining for Blanche again.

Damm a pointless episode, I thought Barney found love

Someone asked Marianne Muellerleile on her social media page why the character of Laura didn't continue.

She blamed it on the series ending. I'm not sure if I'm on board with that. There was still half a season left. And Barn almost immediately went back to trying to pick up other women while pining over Blanche just like the Captain Video episode never happened.
