I have just started watching the show and I am skipping around the seasons and the episodes to get a feeling for the show.

Mary seems to have been a cute kid and a nice person. I think she was nicer than the princess from FKB.

So far though, my favorite family from this era is the Cleavers.

My favorite are the Stones - they have a sense of sophisticated humor with a whiff of sarcasm - good writing and layered performing. They seem like the "smart" family.

I did like both Mary and Jeff, but I usually found the new kid, awkwardly brought in as appearing in the park where the Stones were playing football, kind of annoying. Trisha, played by Paul Petersen's sister Patty, didn't seem to be a seasoned kid actor, and really didn't add anything to show--she was kind of just there.

Of course there are "holes" in the availability of this show--most of seasons 6 and 7 are AWOL. It would be great to see all the episodes.

Donna Reed Show seems to be the counterpoint to Father Knows Best. Donna Reed Show could have been called Mother Knows Best and Father Knows Best could have been called Robert Young Show.

I do like the show.
