I ran across an article for sale on Ebay about Lisa Whelchel (circa 1979). What I could read of it, Lisa seemed to come from a privileged background in Texas. She stated she went to a private school, had her own horse, on her birthday she got a brand new gold Trans Am and talks of visiting Europe as her favorite place.

People who know Lisa will tell you she's nothing like Blair.

And Lisa told Miss Piggy that herself.

That Collector's Call video that was posted here recently had Lisa saying how she was such a tomboy growing up and more like Jo and that she was really acting playing Blair cause she was so unlike her. I have to find that video.

Thanks for the interview. I knew she was mostly different from Blair, I just meant she had material things similar to what Blair would have and went to a private school according to that teen magazine interview.

Interesting story about Leif Garrett. I uploaded that Family episode a little while back.

Julie Anne says that Lisa was nothing like Blair. Lisa herself says she had a motorcycle at age 5. I do think the "heart of gold" part of Blair really was Lisa, but not the spoiled rich snob.

Even decades after becoming famous as Blair, Lisa continued doing New Mickey Mouse Club reunions with her fellow cast members. To me, that says how genuine she is. This is someone who really understands her fandoms, and that the viewers have made her who she is.

I think Molly has more Blair in her than Lisa: all the name-dropping in her book, all of the discussion of French cafes and Italian wines, the sports car with "La Mol" on the license plate, the Brat Pack moniker, the "dissing the interviewer" attitude in her 1980s interviews, etc. Though clearly, she's outgrown some of that.

Eve and Mindy and Kim too. Good for Lisa!

Maybe she watches "The Facts of Life" on DVD with her kids and is taking some lessons to heart!

I think Molly was a bit spoiled growing up. She was (and still is) Daddy's girl. Her father talks mainly about her in interviews and hardly, if ever mention the names of her brother and sister.

I wonder if Lisa ever showed her kids episodes like Dope or the Facts of Love (where Blair advocates experimentation) to her kids when they were younger.

I hadn't noticed Molly's father favoring her, but I will be on the lookout for that. It may be that he's just asked about her more, with her being the Famous One.

The only thing that I think Lisa and Blair had in common was that both had sheltered lives and were incredibly naive growing up.

You seem to have forgotten the BLAIR from season 1: she was the 'rebellious rich kid with the HEART OF GOLD (LISA is a real person and not a character) which is why i find rather surprising that you only see her as snob and nothing else....:bash::bash::bash:

PS: if you look deeper, you'll see there is more to BLAIR than meet the eyes....

There is this article where her father refers to the other two kids as "the other two" and mentions Molly several times by name and indicates she would go out of her way to help him while the "other two" would do so if he asked.
