I was attempting to be respectful and just keep out of this thread!

Remember what grandma used to say.....If you can't say anything nice....

.....then sit next to me!:lol::lol:

Oh no! Mrs. G wasn't like that! Do you think she was?! I can't believe you'd say that about our "feisty little redhead"!

I don't think Mrs. G was partial to saying not so pleasant things about others. She was the opposite of that....wasn't she?

Didn't you just said your grandma used to tell you "if you don't have anything nice to say seat next to me"?
To me the translation would be, "Don't open your mouth if you're going to say something nasty, but just seat next to me" (I can imagine MRS G talking to a child or one of her girls, trying to admonish them by keeping them quiet next to her, change the topic and maybe start talking to them about her youth in 'Appleton, Wisconsin').instead....:wave::wave:

LOL no! You don't know the rest of it...The saying is very mean and catty!

It goes like "If you don't have anything nice to say, then sit next to me and we'll make fun of them together!":lol::lol:

I can't see Mrs. G saying that...but I do like your version as well. It's so much nicer and what Mrs. G would do. Say sit next to me and be quiet. :)

I knew what ya meant!

I hadn't entered this thread because I don't care anything about George's character, but when I saw CFR posted here, I HAD to look at his birthday wishes for George!

Only---he didn't have any! He went off topic!!
