View Full Version : Which FOL cast member would you like to write a book that involves the show?
80s Dude 05-04-2020, 09:57 AM What FOL cast member who hasn't written a book on the show yet, you would like to write a book?
My pick would be Molly Ringwald. I have a feeling she would have a lot to say and wouldn't be hesitant to say it.
FOL-FAN-ITA 05-04-2020, 10:05 AM Interesting, but Molly could talk only about her first season and her guest appearence in s2. Charlotte gives interesting details about the show in her bio. For a 9 years run story, my pick would be a crew member like a director or a writer (for example John Bowab, Asaad Kelada, Eve Brandstein). We could learn interesting details "behind the scenes", not only about the actresses
RetroGuy2000 05-04-2020, 05:38 PM I would love to see Julie Pie write a book about the show. We could gain more insight on Seasons 1, 2, 3, and 8, and even hear more about her experience on DS. You know she'd be very detailed, and would include hundreds of never before seen photos of her and all her castmates.
I'd also echo 80s Dude and say that Molly should write a book about the show. Even though she was only there for 14/16 episodes (including DS), I'd appreciate her recollections, and they wouldn't be all rose-colored. Reading Molly's book on Getting the Pretty Back left a bad taste in my mouth, so I need a palate cleanser.
I'd absolutely LOVE to read a book written by Julie Anne about the show. She's always been more quiet than some of the other cast members, and I'd really appreciate having her open up a bit more. I'd love to get her perspectives.
Finally, I'd love to get a book written by Felice. You just KNOW those air quotes would look good in print!
TV Guy 05-04-2020, 05:40 PM Pamela Adlon. It would be more of a short story than a book, but I want her to dish on those mean girls.

valentina warner 05-04-2020, 07:20 PM I would have love for LISA WHELCHEL to write a book about the 9 years of FOL experience she had on the show, since she was one of the longest cast and the one who stayed until the end....

I would read it, for sure. But I think Lisa isn't interested, having written a dozen other books, none of which cover FOL.
Lorimar Television 05-04-2020, 09:05 PM I second Julie Piekarski. She has lots of photos too she could share!
'80sSitcoms 05-04-2020, 11:42 PM Molly!!
And Julie Anne/Julie!
And I really would love to see Lisa write a book ONLY about the show.
Finally, I'd love to get a book written by Felice. You just KNOW those air quotes would look good in print!
Funny you should say that!

The Lost Girls book series:lol::lol:. We can make a movie franchise on it:lol::lol:
Felice: When the star of the pilot became a wallpaper
Julie P: Sue-Ann's Encyclopedia
Julie A: A country-bumpkin turned tomboy story
Molly: A woman and her worst job ever

I would read every single one of those! I'd pore over them, actually! and I think quite a few others, here, would too.

Poor Felice! I wonder what the producers were thinking in 1978, what thing Felice didn't have that Dana Plato had

That "all-American" look! The blond hair and blue eyes and freckles.

'80sSitcoms 05-08-2020, 08:01 PM Hey, going back to fantasy Molly dirt, have you guys thought about how LUCKY Molly Ringwald's husband is?? I mean, think about it...
When they're having dinner, he gets to ask her about being on "The Facts of Life".
When they're in the car, he gets to ask her about being on "The Facts of Life".
When they're getting dressed to go somewhere, he gets to ask her about being on "The Facts of Life".
When he's lying beside her in bed, every night, he gets to ask her about being on "The Facts of Life".
He's LIVING with the "tell-all" of her experience on the show!! What a lucky guy!!!

She probably told him not to bring it up 20 years ago, and every time they have dinner, they're in the car, they're getting dressed to go somewhere, or laying in bed together, he's dying to ask about The Facts of Life. But he knows better, or he'll be sleeping on the couch. ;)

Oh man...
I never considered THAT.
So he's either the LUCKIEST guy in the WHOLE WORLD, or the most pitiable sorry guy ever! lol
If I were him, I would totally sneak a friend skilled in hypnosis into the house, heehee.

Since Conrad Bain (the father) was blonde, Felice just wouldn't look convincing to be his daughter. The viewers probably thought Mr. Drummond adopted an Italian or Jewish girl (Felice is the latter) somewhere.

But they could have dyed her hair blond.

I don't think Felice looks visibly Jewish, but I do think her dark (almost black) hair may have had an influence on their decision to recast with Dana. I feel really bad it didn't work out for Felice on DS, HL, and ultimately FOL, although 19+1 episodes (FOL+DS) wasn't too bad of a run.

ALL AMERI CAN!!!!! (FELICE definitely looked more Italian than Jewish to me ha ha!):happyface:happyface:happyface
:trio:trio:trio
PS: on the other hand, CHARLOTTE RAE looked very Jewish (Russian Jewish) to me lol!;););)
Gemini_89 06-29-2020, 12:34 PM Well, judging by the rumors of Nancy Mckeon being an assho!e by some people I would like to get her take on the situation in a book. I want her to let it all out and tell the truth. How does she really feel about the "bitchy" rumors, who she really likes and dislikes etc...
Gemini_89 06-29-2020, 12:37 PM Pamela Adlon. It would be more of a short story than a book, but I want her to dish on those mean girls.
Me too. She's interesting and kinda entertaining due to some interviews i've seen of her, lol.
RetroGuy2000 06-30-2020, 03:12 AM I wonder how much of the rumors of Nancy McKeon's attitude on set is a double standard? Why is it okay when Alan Alda throws a fit on set, and basically takes over a show, while Nancy is perceived as a biatch for throwing scripts and demanding a raise in salary?

Alan Alda?
RetroGuy2000 06-30-2020, 03:28 AM Alan Alda?
Hawkeye on MASH. He was, by some accounts, unbearable on set, and eventually, the show began to revolve around Hawkeye and his long rants.

Oh
80s Dude 06-30-2020, 07:52 AM William Shatner was like that too. I think the only one who liked him on the show and afterward was Leonard Nimoy.

It's okay because Alan Alda was a man, and a grown man, while Nancy McKeon was a female, and barely an adult female---practically a teenage girl.
