I have heard of women wearing a house dress, but I noticed that the mom wears a cleaning jacket of some type. Was that a common thing?
I wear my bathrobe to clean because of the pockets and the fact that my clothes stay clean underneath it, but I might make something similar that is lighter and make humongous pockets for it. The pockets make it easier to take junk from the room it was left in back to the room it belongs in.

I didn't notice that, but in the later episodes (I posted this someplace else, I think) Jim comes home and changes into a different suit jacket, which is hanging in the hall closet. I guess this is an older jacket for wear around the house. But what guy has a suit jacket to wear at home?

It looks like a lab coat. I think I have seen it 5 times, but I have been skipping around through the seasons and episodes trying to get the feel of the show.

Off topic, but they really struck gold on the DVD sets. Most of the episodes come from great sources, are complete and aren't chopped up like they are on TV. Except season 1, which Shout bungled with a bunch of edited episodes.
Also a lot of the TV episodes look dark--the general quality on the DVDs is much better.

How are the DVDs set up? Are they like LITB where each episode plays one after the other or after one episode ends, do you have to go back out to the main menu and start another episode?
I like to put a DVD in and have it play all the episodes one after the other without me having to do anything.

There is a 'play all' option.
