This was just uploaded 15 days ago. Wow, so TGSC was a puppet show?? I had no idea! I always thought it was some animated show thing like "Space Ghost Coast to Coast". I bet I would have really dug this as a kid!

So here's Charlotte in a 6-minute scene with Goriddle Gorilla, where culminating in them singing a duet of Dionne Warwick's '70s groovy ballad "I'll Never Fall in Love Again". Very cute! And I love seeing Charlotte interact with a puppet! :loveya: (most or all of the footage we have of her "Sesame Street" shows her only interacting with other humans)

(go to about the 16:25 mark for Charlotte)

Thanks, '80s! Cool find! I had never heard of this show. (The queuing didn't work, BTW).

Right?? I love treats like this! :loveya:

You hadn't? Interesting...I had, but had never seen it.

(The queuing didn't work, BTW).

Huh, that's weird. It does for me. Maybe it only does it for the OP in their post. I went and edited the parenthetical.

Yes, they are like getting something so special: extra little moments with Charlotte.

Queuing

Eh? You queue (https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9546304?hl=en) your YouTube videos. Cue (https://www.dictionary.com/e/cue-vs-queue/) is a different word.

Eh? You queue (https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/9546304?hl=en) your YouTube videos. Cue (https://www.dictionary.com/e/cue-vs-queue/) is a different word.

I know they're different words, but "cue" is the one for how I was using it (https://writingexplained.org › cue-or-queue-difference). You "cue up" to a time mark within a single media clip. You "queue up" various media clips to be lined up for a sequence.

"For example, the phrase cue up is used when positioning an audio or video in readiness for playing. A radio talk show might ask his producer to cue up clip 17. Similarly, the phrase queue up is used when someone is lining up. Air travelers queue up when their plane is boarding."

No, I just Googled (https://writingexplained.org › cue-or-queue-difference) to confirm before I posted earlier. You "cue up" media. You "queue up" people.

The situation is not as simple as "cue" for media and "queue" for people.

Was that supposed to be a Sesame Street rip off?

Retro, I know the difference. That is not the way I used the word!

You queue videos as in multiple videos, like the image you provided above. It is talking about queuing up multiple videos to "line them up", to be played in a sequence.

But you "cue up" to a certain time mark within one media clip, so that's where the cue will be to start it. "Cue it up to where he appears", "Cue it up to the 5th minute mark".

:)

(it's in the links you and I both shared, lol)

Hmm, I have no idea. I see it aired from '81 to '86. I'd have to do some more research to know.,

You edited your post, but I quoted you. You stated "No, I just Googled to confirm before I posted earlier. You "cue up" media. You "queue up" people."

You've since edited the post.

Right, there's a difference. You "cue up" a single piece of media when your'e talking about playing a piece of media at a certain time mark ("Cue it up to the 3rd song"). I edited it because that made it sound like I Googled before I first posted, but I Googled before I was responding.

I noticed you were talking about it in a different way. You were meaning queuing up like various pieces of media to be played in a sequence (where you would "queue up" several videos like you would queue up people), but I meant the "cue" way since I had it cued up to a certain time mark.

You may have cued the video to a certain mark, or you may have queued it to line it up to a certain point. Had I said the video marker wasn't lined up to play correctly, I wouldn't expect the laughter.

Which, now that we're on the subject, I know I haven't laughed when you've spelled something wrong, and I really would expect the same behavior from you. Even if you feel as though I've misspelled something, I don't think laughter is really appropriate. Further, your statement "You 'cue up' media. You 'queue up' people" just isn't fully accurate. There are many times when you would queue up media.

You "cue" within one file to a certain mark. You would queue video files to be lined up to play in a sequence.

Yeah, this is where the gray area with "texting" is. I'm sorry if you felt I was laughing "at you" in a making fun of you way. Honestly it was really meant as a "cute" little laugh, since I saw it as an accidental wrong word, and then I thought you'd see it as something you didn't mean. So I am sorry if it looked derogatory.

But only if you are talking about lining up several files for use. You would queue up various media to be lined in a sequence, but you cue up to a mark within one media file.

Yeah, I thought I had no memories of this show, but then CFR mentioned Gary the Gnu, and his "g-news" and catchphrase. I do remember that part. Because the show was on in first-run syndication, I likely wouldn't have seen the later seasons, when I lived in an area with very few local stations.

As far as the Care Bear Cousins go, I only remember the Care Bears, and not their cousins. I was not a fan, although I had younger siblings who were big fans of the Care Bears.

Even if you weren't fan though, I would have (and did!) assumed you knew about them from maybe seeing them in stores or on TV commercials promoting the plushies to sell.

CHARLOTTE aka MRS G singing the original song from DIONNE WARWICK! (her voice was great, but i prefer DIONNE) and it's a 1960 s song (not 1970 s)
