Yeah, that first link is wrong. I hope 80s Dude will edit the post, to clarify. But John Lawlor was definitely the Malt-O-Meal Dad in other commercials, as linked below the original post. I wonder who came first? Did John swoop in and steal the role? Or did John's agent call with the "good news" that he was "free" to pursue other acting roles?
