Obviously some shows (https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/7022-syndication-edits-i-am-devastated-just-devastated/)have to be edited (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/EditedForSyndication) for syndication (https://www.hometheaterforum.com/community/threads/syndicated-shows-when-cutting-started.279083/), either for legal reasons, they haven't got the rights to the footage or music (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ScrewedByTheLawyers/LiveActionTV), or have cut for time (https://forums.stevehoffman.tv/threads/tv-syndication-cuts-who-makes-the-decisions.322083/) reasons (to make room for advertisements).

The old Screen Gems shows like Father Knows Best, Dennis the Menace, and Hazel (S2 thru 5) when remastered to videotape, matched all the old, horrible syndication "blackout" edits from the 16mm syndication films of old. What they SHOULD have done is remaster full network versions and allow the channels to make their own edits if they want.
