View Full Version : How many have done your income taxes?
Coffeecup 04-18-2020, 01:36 PM I didn't work this past year so I have a very small income. My brother and I owned a house and collect rent. We break about even with expenses for the house. Since I'm over age 60 I do get a payout of money from monies I have saved. But no job. This year was a bit different for when I added everything up, it came to $89.00 income. According to one on line site I don't have to pay a thing. Both the State and Fed ask for Payment or refund and I am doing neither. I would like to let the state and Fed know my figuring. Do I let them know or do they alrealdy know?? I do wonder what the year 2020 will be. I may not work another year. I do get a little restless sitting around. Any thoughts ??
OH Nuts! 04-18-2020, 01:38 PM Not yet. My tax info is at work-and we’re not allowed in building.

If you don’t mind me asking you, where do you work?
We filed ours in February.

In NYC
I know you work in NYC, but what kind of job do you do?
We filed ours in February.
That’s when we did ours as well.

HuntingtonM15 04-21-2020, 09:35 AM I did mine in mid-February as soon as my last 1099 became available. It would drive me insane to wait any longer than that.

I wish I had done mine early.
treky 04-24-2020, 02:35 AM I didn't because I don't have to file. I get too much in SSI.
I filed around mid-February. As soon as I get my W-2s and other documents needed to file, I like to get them done ASAP.

Since I have all my documents in mid-February, I literally have no reason to wait any longer than that. It would just be letting the IRS hold on to my money interest-free for a longer period of time.
MrCleveland 04-27-2020, 07:45 PM I had my sister and brother-in-law do them.
I had an appointment on March 31st...but I couldn't do them because they cancelled all appointments. Then I tried again and when I went...some ******* said "we have no appointments"...I almost wanted to yell at that ******* like Joe Pesci in Goodfellas when Billy Batts told him to "go and get your ****ing shinebox"!
I almost wanted to throw-away my taxes because I was ****ing mad! **** this coronavirus panicdemic! So I just said "**** it! I'll have my sister do them for me"!
And after that...that's how I'm gonna ****in' do 'em!
Furienna 05-05-2020, 02:16 PM Thankfully, you're able to do many things over the internet these days. So yes, I did my taxes in time after all.
