I've heard that the combo Season 1 and 2 DVD was the best seller of all the individual seasons DVD sales.

I haven't heard, but that wouldn't surprise me at all. After all it was the first DVD release, it had the "fab five" on the front cover, it had two seasons on it, and it bridged 2 "eras" of the show.

True. I’m sure the few lost girl fans went nuts for it too

Well, I remember they did a lot of promotion and marketing for this box set. All the girls appeared on The Today Show and the TV Land Awards to promote it. So it really doesn't surprise me.

I'm a little upset the original box set didn't have the Lost Girls on the front cover. You'd think they'd want to tout that Molly Ringwald was in the first season, since she became a big movie star (although I'm not sure how Ringwald would feel about this).

Anyways, I'm still holding out for The Reunion Movie to get a DVD releases, darn it!

That was the first FOL set i got too: the Combo 1 & 2 DVD (right after DS season 1) and because it was the first time i had ever heard of it, when i watched the season 2 and noticed the 'Lost girls' were not anymore on the show, i was confused and was like "what the heck and where are they????"

I remember their morning show interview promoting it. It was Lisa, Nancy, and Mindy. I was surprise Nancy actually participated in the interview when there were so many rumors that she hated being associated with the show.

Regardless how popular Molly was, fans remember the Jo seasons being the show. I don't think the set would have sold well if they put the lost girls on the cover. There's not a lot of season 1 fans.

Even though I don't care for the reunion movie, I would buy it. I like having complete collections of my shows in the best quality possible.

Good work Retro!:happyface:happyface:happyface

But you should have had NANCY next to SUE ANN (they being the oldest two) and CINDY next to MOLLY (as the two youngest):wave::wave:

I think I can do better! :p Had I been in charge of the cover art, I would have made all the girls, including the lost ones be on this cover. With everyone, including Jo, wearing their Eastland uniform (strangely enough, Jo was the only one who wasn't wearing her Eastland uniform on the original set). Also, I would have wanted season 1 Mrs. G. in the center with her bouffant (since that is so distinctly season 1)! I didn't care for Mr. Bradley or Miss Mahoney since they were minor characters (even though they got billing in the opening credits), so I left 'em off the DVD set.

Here's my alternative version that I would have proposed had I been the graphic designer. If they ever do a re-issue, hopefully they reach out to me :)

WOW! Talk about an "early years" fan's dream!! :loveya:

My only wishes are that Cindy would be in her famous trademark braids, and that Molly's bowl hair wouldn't block so much of Mrs. Garrett, lol. But still, yes, AWESOME play work!!

Here it is in a more "user-friendly" size. :)

Thanks. I couldn’t find a good color studio press photo of Cindy with her braids, so maybe you can help track one down? This was the best press kit photo I could find of her. It was hard to work around Molly’s bowl cut with so many girls, I suppose I could move Edna up a little higher.

Alternative version with Cindy with braids (albeit a low res version) and less of Molly's bowl cut :D
