In 1993 Comfort Inn motels introduced a mascot named Choice-O'Saurus "although Choice-O'Saurus appeared mainly in Comfort Inn commercials he was also known as Quality-O'Saurus and Clarion-O'Saurus because he was shared by the Choice hotels Quality Inn and Clarion Inn." Choice-O'Saurus looks like a baby dinosaur character from the show Land Of The Lost and his very first commercial he was introduced in promoted a sweepstakes where people could win a million dollar prize as well as free nights at Choice Hotels nationwide. As Choice-O'Saurus's celebrity status grew he proved to be a good promotion for the hotel chain. Merchandise consisting of a set of Choice-O'Saurus figurines was made that was given to guests who stayed at any Choice Hotel. Although retired in 1995 Choice-O'Saurus proved the trend for dinosaur themed commercials to appear in the 90's when the Jurassic Park movie and book were all the rage
