Did carl Like steve because I noticed he got mad and yelled at him alot ?

At first, no, but as the years went by, they eventually grew a bond, a bond that in my opinion should've have happened sooner considering how often Steve was there when a helpful person was very much needed.

I feel like this show could be kind of inconsistent with this sort of thing. In the later years they tried to portray Carl and Steve as friends, and that even though Steve got on his nerves Carl still liked him and cared about him, but then when Laura was asking for advice about her double proposal and Harriette said "there are many wonderful things about Steve", Carl acted like there weren't any good things about Steve at all.
