Nothing against the show or the actresses at all, but am I the only one who thinks that Lorelai looks way too young to be Rory's mom? Granted I have barely watched ten episodes of the show so I don't know the history of it, but they look more like sisters. Today I watched an episode from Season 7 I believe where Rory went out to dinner with her dad. He looked like someone she could go on a date with. I think she was trying to get her parents back together, but for some reason I thought that Edward Herman played her dad.
Anyway, it's just confusing to me, especially since when I looked up both actresses they're only 14 years apart. I do like both actresses and the show is cute. I'm looking foreword to watching it from the beginning.

The character of Laureli gave birth to her daughter Rory when she was 16. It looks beleivable that they're only 16 years apart.

Okay, well that makes sense then. Thanks. It's a cute show so I hope to watch it from the beginning soon.

Yes, a large premise of this show is Lorelai never got along with her parents, gave birth to her daughter at 16, and wouldn't speak to Rory's grandparents again until she needed money for an expensive private school when Rory became 16 herself. They have more of a best friend relationship than mother and daughter as Lorelai can be quite immature. But it works as Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel have amazing chemistry.

It's a really cute show from what I've seen of it. I watch it occasionally on Up-TV. I think they're on Season 7 right now and I'm going to wait till they start over and then start DVRing the eps. I know it's not the same as watching them uncut, but it's enough for right now. At least I can get the jest of it. They show commercials for it all the time on Up and I'm curious about some of the episodes.
