Yeah, the episodes without Max are kind of depressing ! :lol:

But a Season 3 Barbara is really pretty !! ;) she's getting out of her little girl stage and becoming a beautiful woman ! Speaking of Barbara looking pretty, she looks beautiful in a Season 5 ep.
" Perils of Plastic" ! Her hair looks really pretty in this ep.and it's a hilarious one about Max and Julie running up their credit cards ! It really is a very funny episode even if I didn't love Max! :) Oh, and you don't like Schneider, he is not in Perils of Plastic at all!! :wave:

Don’t. Yeah the overall topic is serious, but there’s lots of humor mixed in and they’re two of the best episodes of the series.

The funniest part is probably Cliff's total obliviousness about the whole situation and Barbara's turtle.

She was a very lonely , troubled young girl ! :( Her parents didn't listen to her, esp. her Mother , swept Melanie's problems under the carpet ! :confused: She was an only child and the family moved around a lot so Melanie couldn't really adjust to a new home, or school and make any real friends! Therefore she latched onto Barbara in a desperate attempt to make a new best friend and came off as being too needy and desperate for a friendship!:confused: And she mistook a little conversation in the school hallway with a popular , cute boy as a romantic gesture and was devastated to find out that boy Cliff, really liked Barbara ! Poor Melanie couldn't handle any rejection but it mainly had to do with her Mother not paying attention to her underlying emotional loneliness and problems !! :(

She felt worthless partly because she had no friends. She also didn't get along with her mother.
