I would say that, even though he was a little rough around the edges, it was clear that his heart was in the right place. I think he was quite a bit nicer than some TV fathers.

Yeah, I think his bark was bigger than his bite !! ;)

He definitely had a gruff exterior, but I think all in all he was a good dad. I sure missed him once he was gone.
