In a local news segment after Erin Moran's untimely death, a St. Louis-area TV station did a news interview with Julie Pie, where she talked about the pressures of being a child star. During that interview, the cameras captured pictures of Julie Pie's immaculate basement, where she kept a trunk of memorabilia from her time as a child star.

Included in that trunk were photo albums and scrapbooks, obviously dating to the period of Julie's time on the New Mickey Mouse Club and The Facts of Life. I believe they even showed a brief clip of one of the photo albums.

Some of these photos were later used in Reelz Channel's Facts of Life documentary, Behind Closed Doors. I had wondered, while watching the documentary, where they got such amazing behind-the-scenes photos, and sure enough, Julie herself is listed along with Getty Images, NBC, and other professional media sources, as the source of many of the behind the scenes photos.

Looking back, now, at the documentary, which photos do you believe were from Julie's photo albums?

Here are my possible picks; they seem to have been taken around the same time, mostly just showing the girls laughing and having fun backstage. Several of the photos were obviously taken on the same day, as if the "cheerleader for the show" wanted to capture some candid shots of girls "rough housing".

Well, the ones that look like they're "scrapbook-type" photos, IMO; the ones that have that age and amateur look to them: the Denny's photos, Julie under the "Kim Fields" sign, the girls with John, Julie with Jenny, Julie with Charlotte, Charlotte with Mindy (with Charlotte mostly out of view of the camera's panning in).

I'm not sure about the Julie Anne photos. I guess they most likely are if Julie Anne herself isn't cited as a source.

That's pretty much what I was thinking, as well. I edited my post to add some examples of photos I think very likely were from Julie Pie's scrapbook. Like you, I believe Julie under the Kim Fields sign, Julie and Jenny, Julie with Charlotte, Charlotte with Mindy, and Mindy showing off her hair curlers, are very likely from the Julie Pie collection.

I'm not 100% sure about the Denny's photos, although they also have that sort of amateur, relaxed quality to them (and some were taken on the same day, considering the outfits). The reason I wonder is that some of them have a watermark on them. KG-something, with the exact date. The other photos don't have that. Molly's Annie photo also has that watermark, as if it was taken by Eve Brandstein.

I don't believe either Julie Anne or Felice are credited as sources for any photos. I did look, repeatedly, to see if they had been credited in any way, and they were not, as far as I saw.

Oh yeah, Mindy with the rollers, I forgot about that one.

Hmm, as for Denny's, maybe just the Denny's exterior photos?

You didn't see Felice credited as a source?

She probably just got Nancied.

;)

I think I've just been able to eliminate the Denny's exterior photos. They have the same watermark (KG-T) as the photo of Molly at an Annie event, presumably in San Francisco.

Considering Karen TJ's New Mickey Mouse Club website has her listed as KG-T (https://www.oocities.org/karentj24/), and she mentions helping with the NMMC in the 1970s, and working with Lisa's grandmother in Texas in the fan club, it seems as though the source of the Denny's photos was a NMMC fan member named Karen TJ, who had a NMMC GeoCities website (http://web.archive.org/web/20021122040207/http://geocities.com/Karentj24/) in the 1990s. (Or possibly Karen got them from Julie or Lisa/Lisa's grandmother.)

Well, so did Julie Anne! They probably thought "and everyone" was enough credit.

But it looks like this KJ person just obtained the photos and then digitally put her mark on them when she copied/uploaded them. So I'd say the Denny's photos could still be from Julie's scrapbook, or at least that she has copies of the same ones.

That's definitely possible.

I really liked BLAIR better with her light brown hair from season 1 (from season 2 onward she kept becoming blonder and blonder....)
