The story is irrelevant, but a question.

Why in the studio does it take two people to say one story? Usually the top story, and one starts to present it and then the other one chimes in about the same story. I always thought this was dumb and everyone does it. Why can’t one person just do the story and not two?

I don’t get that as well. I don’t understand why local news keeps increasing time slots I believe back in the 80’s news was on

Mon-Fri 6AM & 12pm & 6pm & 11pm
Sat 6pm & (11pm occasionally)
Sun 6pm & 11pm

Christmas Eve Mon-Fri 6AM & 12pm & (NEWS 4:30pm)
Christmas Eve Sat-Sun 4pm (SPECIAL NEWS)

Christmas Day Sun-Thu 11pm
Christmas Day Fri-Sat None

Now 2020 local News...

Mon-Fri 4AM & 4:30AM & 5AM & 5:30AM 6AM & 6:30AM & 12pm & 4pm & 4:30pm & 5pm & 5:30pm 6pm & 7pm & 7:30pm & (10pm or 11pm)

Sat-Sun 7AM & 7:30AM & 6pm & (10pm or 11pm)

Christmas Eve Mon-Fri 4:30AM & 5AM & 5:30AM & 6AM & 6:30AM & 12pm & 4pm & 4:30pm & 5pm & 5:30pm & 6pm & 7pm & 7:30pm & (10pm or 11pm)

Christmas Eve Sat-Sun 7AM & 7:30AM & 6pm & 11pm

Christmas Day Mon-Fri 8AM & 8:30AM & 9AM & 9:30AM & 6pm & (10pm or 11pm)

Christmas Day Sat-Sun 8AM & 8:30AM & 9AM & 9:30AM & 6pm & (10pm or 11pm)

You would think with local news having a website News would be reduced. Remember when Cartoons Sitcom reruns talk shows game shows were on these local news channels?

OUr local news comes on at 5 am and then there's another one at 6. And I don't know about the afternoon, but at night on one channel the news starts at 9, and then another one at 10, and then another at 11.

I used to watch the local news faithfully but over the years I stopped doing that and only really watched the news at work b/c that was what everyone watched in the break room so I didn't really have a choice. But that was the only time I would watch the news.

Now I just can't bring myself to watch more than a few minutes. I will turn it on out of curiosity b/c of the crap that's going on in the world, but other than that I avoid it at all costs.

We have local newscasts at 5 and 6 PM, and another one at 11 PM.

The MeTV affiliate has news here at 10 PM.

We have channels that around 12 of 24 hours are news--it's ridiculous. And of course right now they're almost "all covid all the time."

And with some working at home, sometimes the audio is horrible and the picture breaks up. It doesn't have to be that way, as other channels manage to have the person at home, but it looks perfect.

That’s how it is here as well.

And I try not to watch the news a lot either.
