I really think Molly Ringwald was really taking pictures of that fight in "Running". You see her off camera and then a lot of flashes going off and then Molly runs back on screen to climb a chair to get different angles and then runs off screen again and then you saw more flashes.
If this was part of the script for Molly to take photos, why not have her be on camera while taking pictures and turn off the flash if she was pretending to take pictures as part of the show.
I think she sold copies of those to Roger who found the fight "sexy".

The flash was needed to demonstrate that she was taking photos. No film was necessary, as they wouldn't be showing them anywhere. I doubt the camera was loaded.

I never noticed MOLLY taking pictures? But then again, i was always more focused on BLAIR and SUE ANN....

Yeah, the fight itself is so dramatic that I think most people wouldn't notice Molly snapping photos around them.

Oh, you would if you were taking in the whole scene absorbing every detail.
But then again, "most people" don't watch FOL soaking everything up as much as some of us do. ;)
(and also, camera flashes are flashing and snapping off everywhere ;))

To be honest MOLLY was my least favourite character, so i was more focused on the other ones, and especially the older 3: BLAIR, NANCY and SUE ANN, sorry!:crazy::crazy::crazy:
