I remember someone has Measles which today would be an epidemic. Back in the day we all had Chicken pox, Measles, mumps, German measles etc. all you needed was a certificate from a doctor that you were safe to come back. I remember I had the mumps and went back to school with an absent note. I was called to the office and they had to come get me and take me to a doctor because I didn’t have a certificate.

Beaver had measles in the pigeons episode. It was an epidemics, oops, nope, that was the school picnic episode. The sore stomach--from when Beaver punched him in it!

The discussions here are a lot better than Facebook. Has anyone been over there? There was a big discussion today about where Mayfield is. I think we're beyond that, but I'll have to say, they have a LOT of people, including the guy who relates Rusty Stevens stories.

Today's Rusty stories involved his car coat (as he called it), and (in the hooky episode) he noticed he was wearing white buck shoes (when they were sitting under the "Champagne Flights" billboard). I never heard of white buck shoes, other than in a Father Knows Best episode. They must have been a fad around 1959.

Beaver had the Measles sometime before the shows but it was mentioned in show where they find his old teddy. Beaver had the Chicken Pox in the pigeons episode.

I wonder who it was who had the Measles? That would be really bad today but treat it like it was the common cold. I think it’s someone in Wally’s school. In Beaver’s IQ test he mentions he had Scarletina.
