I put this poll because I feel people should be able to choose from
a wide variety of ethnic cuisines. Although Chinese, Mexican and
Italian are the most common types of ethnic cuisine, I feel the
cuisines of other important immigrant groups as well as good old
American food should receive people's attention.

I would choose Italian. My mom used to know a lot of Italians and learned recipes from them. After Italian I would choose American food followed by Chinese.

Y ou know, a Whopper, fries, chips, steak, pork chops (I can put away 10 of those!). And Chinese food is great. Too bad there isn't a Jack's Bistro around here. Maybe I'd like French cuisine.

This brings to mind one of my favorite songs, heard frequently on the Doctor Demento radio show:

Junk Food Junkie
Written by Larry Groce

Released by Warner Bros. Records in 1976; playing time, 3:03
Was Groce's only hit, making it as high as #9 on the _Billboard_ Hot 100

You know I love that organic cooking
I always ask for more
And they call me Mr. Natural
On down to the health food store
I only eat good sea salt
White sugar don't touch my lips
And my friends is always
Begging me to take them
On macrobiotic trips
Yes, they are
Oh, but at night I take out my strongbox
That I keep under lock and key
And I take it off to my closet
Where nobody else can see
I open that door so slowly
Take a peek up north and south
Then I pull out a Hostess Twinkie
And I pop it in my mouth
Yeah, in the daytime I'm Mr. Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
But at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me
Well, at lunchtime
You can always find me
At the Whole Earth Vitamin Bar
Just sucking on my plain white yogurt
From my hand thrown pottery jar
And sippin' a little hand pressed cider
With a carrot stick for dessert
And wiping my face
In a natural way
On the sleeve of my peasant shirt
Oh yeah
Ah, but when that clock strikes midnight
And I'm all by myself
I work that combination
On my secret hideaway shelf
And I pull out some Fritos corn chips
Dr. Pepper and an Ole Moon Pie
Then I sit back in glorious expectation
Of a genuine junk food high
Oh yeah, in the daytime I'm Mr. Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
But at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me
My friends down at the commune
They think I'm pretty neat
Oh, I don't know nothing about arts and crafts
But I give 'em all something to eat
I'm a friend to old Euell Gibbons
And I only eat homegrown spice
I got a John Keats autographed Grecian urn
Filled up with my brown rice
Yes, I do
Oh, but folks lately I have been spotted
With a Big Mac on my breath
Stumbling into a Colonel Sanders
With a face as white as death
I'm afraid someday they'll find me
Just stretched out on my bed
With a handful of Pringles Potato Chips
And a Ding Dong by my head
In the daytime I'm Mr. Natural
Just as healthy as I can be
But at night I'm a junk food junkie
Good lord have pity on me

American, but I do like Italian and Mexican as long as it's not too spicy. I don't like eating anything really fancy though, I like typical midwestern no frills stuff. I hate Chinese. I went to a chinese buffet once and the only thing I liked were the Chinese donuts:lol:

You mean from the country of India? Yep, I have. When I was in 6th grade in 1996, each grade chose a country to do a food project on for a nutrition fair we had that year, and we chose to do India because our teacher that was in charge of working with us had originally lived in India for a few years, so she knew how to make Indian food. I THINK? We made some kind of curry? I can't even remember the name anymore, it was 7 years ago when we did that...But I remember thinking that Indian food is pretty spicy but pretty good! :)

Having a teacher who used to live in India was a big plus for us when we were doing that project because she had TONS of stuff she'd gotten while in India, like authentic Indian sahrongs (sp?), and an elephant's leg stool they used to have in India before they banned the making of elephant leg stools. It was just so cool. I completely forgot all about that! Gosh, it's been soooooo long since I tried Indian food. :D

Oh yeah, I just remembered something else! One of the grades (I think it was 9th) did their project on foods from SAUDI ARABIA. I don't remember trying it but I thought it was pretty interesting! :D

Hard to pick just one. I decided on Mexican because I really do love almost all Mexican food, especially fajitas (and burritos, and nachos, and I should just stop now. ) My other favorites are Korean, Indian and Thai.

Mexican. There's a place in this shopping center close to my house called Cotijas and they have THE BEST Mexican food and seafood. I think they are so much better than Rubio's and El Pollo Loco. I'm lucky to live in Southern California because they only have these places here.

My two favorites are Chinese and Italian. It's very hard to choose between them, plus New York has so many great restaurants.

I also like Japanese and French.

I hate mexican and Indian.
