This is now one of my favorites of the whole series! And a Natalie one to boot?! Who have thought?!

I knew Natalie wasn't going to college from being told here, but didn't know she wanted to hop on a Greyhound to see the country! (I did that, so now I like Natalie SO much more because she's like me!)

I don't get why the others were so against the idea. Especially Jo who get all angry, yet she's the one who winds up married and knocked up right out of college, then becomes a cop therefore making her own college education pretty useless.

I think her decision was great and she was only putting it off for a year anyway. And as a writer, going out to see the world helps her more than any journalism class would. Life experience is just as important.

I liked the moment between Nat & her bestie Tootie...you know they weren't just acting and the fact they're still friends today shows that. They both looked like they meant the words they were scripted to say. :)

And Mrs. Garrett is back...but sadly to let go of another bird from her nest when she told Natalie she's all grown up now. :(

Natalie definitely moved up to number 3 in my list of favorites and Jo gets plunked down to forth, especially for her hypocrisy. Shut up Jo!

(I missed most of the one before it where Blair runs Edna's Edibles because my antenna wasn't working and ruining the reception and I had to move the TV to another room.)

Funnily enough though....at 4pm when FOL is over the reception miraculously gets perfect again! :wallbang

Who'd have thought?!

NOT ME!!

Wait, did you skip college like her too, or are you just talking about cross-country bus-hopping when you were FIFTEEN???

Lol, I started a thread here a couple of years ago asking if anyone thought this was a good or a bad example for kids. You don't get why the others are upset? I mean, regardless of whether you think she should or shouldn't go, I'd still think you'd understand where they're coming from.

And as for Jo, well, that wasn't "written" yet, but I do get the irony.

I think they were all afraid that "putting it off for a year" means "never going" due to that being the case sometimes.

And Mrs. Garrett is back...but sadly to let go of another bird from her nest when she told Natalie she's all grown up now. :(

That was cute, and bittersweet..."how could you do this to me??" "It's partly your fault!" awww :grouphug:

OMG that's hilarious---it won't paste that "grandpa" emoji, instead it shows the brown-haired younger version with a "template" for the old white-haired verison??

I went straight to FT work at 17 lol. I had to get my Mom to go with me to sign me out of HS because school bored the hell out of me and making $10/hr FT was so much more appealing. College isn't for everyone and I get that, but some people just don't. We're all different ya know! :)

I did try college a couple of years later at 19...even went away and stayed at a dorm and the whole kit & kaboodle...I HATED it LOL. HATED! OMG I couldn't get back home fast enough and back to working. It just wasn't me at all so I can totally understand Natalie's point of view.

I don't think it's a question of being a "good or bad example for kids", but Natalie's dilemma does show truth that there are many young people who just don't feel the pull to go to college and that should be totally ok. It's not for everyone and shouldn't be.

Remember, there are tons of jobs and careers that don't need college and people need to fill those jobs too! And Natalie aspiring to be a writer still has many opportunities without a college degree.

I guess it's a deeply personal decision for everyone and I feel it should be respected. :):)

Anyway, I like Natalie so much more after seeing this one!! :bighug:

Yeah, I understand that now, but back in my teenage years I wouldn't have. I juts assumed once out of high school, you go to college. That's it.

You wanted to throw some Mrs. G. strudel at Jo and yell "You're FOUR now! Number FOUR!"

This really is amazing! A historic day!! (or, as "Yankees" say, "an historic"!)

I'm too cheap to just get a 2nd TV for the other room.

Yeah...it's like the more the seasons progress the more i'm starting to hate Jo. Maybe it's all that 1980's hair product she's using and should go back to the no maintenance ponytail. Maybe it was holding her brain inside her head.:lol:

I'm glad you starting to like NATALIE (And now that poor JO is at the bottom of your list):lol

As for MRS G and NAT's moment: it was sad to see her let go another bird from her nest (just as she did with BLAIR before) so it was definitely bittersweet:(

And yes, i totally agree with you: NAT should definitely see the world and experience a little if she wants to be a writer, and JO was definitely 'out of order' on that one!:mad

PS: you absolutely need to watch the episode you missed (the one where BLAIR is in charge) it's called 'It's lonely at the top' and it's hilarious!:happyface

I guess that leaves you with the last one: 'The interview show' tomorrow, right? Please let me know how it went! (it's another of my favourite on season 6 and the last):eyes

I actually like Jo "stickin' it" to Nat. Doesn't make her my favorite, lol, I just thought it was a good scene.

Also, what does she need to be hanging out at home and Edna's Edibles if she planned to Greyhound it across the country to "see it all" to inspire her writing? Way to not follow through Nat, lol.

I guess that leaves you with the last one: 'The interview show' tomorrow, right? Please let me know how it went!

Well no fear of that, he's letting us know how EVERYTHING goes! (and we enjoy it so!)

I got to see the first 15 minutes of it before the picture kept freezing up. (but of course the commercials all play flawlessly!)

After that, I had to unplug it and move it but from what I saw, Blair was not being likable at all! Bossing everyone around in her Bootsie way (why are they doing that to her...turning her into Bootsie from hell?!)

I caught when her Dad came to visit and the crowd rushed in the store and they were in the kitchen, but by them the whole episode was shot and I just gave up lol.

I'll catch it next time around. There was no Mrs. G so i'm not too upset.

BLAIR turned okay towards the end and reverses to her old self, and the BOOTSIE 'clone' was gone.....

That's a relief to know. But that means they're just making her into some kind of Sybil character with "regular Blair" & "Bootsie Blair"...that may have worked a few seasons ago, but not now. We've seen to much growth to have her regress, especially with her closest friends.

It totally negates the whole court scene between Blair & Jo when she says "My friends should know me be now and that i'm not like that"...If that's true, why have her continue putting on the airs in front of them when no one else is around. It's weird.

And even in Bus Stop she cracks a line about visiting Nat in Princeton where Jo says "We'll visit you in NJ"....Blair's all "YOU can visit her in NJ".

WTH??!....Bitch, you've been living in PEEKSKILL, NY for years now. It's COW COUNTRY! NJ is actually a step UP from there!

And we're to believe Blair wouldn't take up the chance to visit Princeton?! Because it's in NJ?! Gimme a break!!

That is the reason why i dislike the later seasons: they turn BLAIR into a 'BOOTSIE CLONE' alike, when we all know how much growth she'd done in all the years....:confused::confused:
