Dave Sundrom's recent video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YSBay4pNMMY) on her inspired me to bring this up. We Got It Made was obviously intended to be a full-fledged star making vehicle for Teri Copley. During the '80s, she was being hyped up as being the second coming of Suzanne Somers and more specifically, Marilyn Monroe (https://www.filmboards.com/board/p/2244407/).

Dave in his video believes that a major reason why We Got It Made failed is because NBC marketed the show wrongly. The print ads that depicted Teri dressed like some French maid in fishnet stockings, gave the impression that it was a very sleazy, risque type of show. In reality, We Got It Made was actually a cute, relatively harmless farcical show in the vein of Three's Company. It didn't help that We Got It Made (at least, Season 1 on NBC) had an atrocious theme song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_bcU03y6FI).

One commenter in Dave Sundrom's video said that Teri Copley's problem is that is beyond her obvious channeling of Marilyn Monroe, Teri she didn't have enough depth as an actress to get away with NOT "giving up the goods" like she eventually did in the Playboy spread after nothing else worked.

And maybe the constant comparisons to Marilyn also hurt because no one could live up to that and considering how Marilyn ultimately ended up, you have to wonder why anyone would want to.

I read a comment elsewhere that Teri Copley simply didn't do enough to exude a fun, lively or sexy personality. Simply being pretty and smiling for the camera isn't going to seal the deal. The poster (http://i.ebayimg.com/images/i/401018089780-0-1/s-l1000.jpg) that she did (in the vein of Farrah Fawcett and Heather Thomas) seemed to be a microcosm of sorts of this problem. Depending on who you ask, Teri looks unsure of herself with her bland smile and dead eyes.
