They have similar concepts, but Broke is executed better. The brother and sister-in-law are funny, and Pauley Perette's son is a good actor.

"Network comedies aiming for mainstream approval must always gloss over actual problems and wrap up episodes with the message that family is more important than money, as Broke's pilot does, but at this moment it has the unintended effect of coming off as disingenuous or like a rich person — say a toilet paper tycoon or a hand sanitizer heir — putting their hand on our knee and saying they know what we're going through," he says. "The polished fairy-tale depiction of poverty that these sitcoms show doesn't exist outside the 42-inch screen we watch it on. Turn your head too far to the left or right and the despair of the real world is right there in a pile of Top Ramen wrappers and overdue bills."

Yeah you're right, Broke and Indebted are very similar and not the greatest of shows. They may get better over time.

Hoping for the best; also hoping that maybe someone like her can devise some kind of canned laughter canceler.

I've been preferring Indebted (which premiered two months before Broke), because I've already said that I would avoid watching Broke, because the title alone hit rather close to home for me. It reminds me of 2 Broke Girls, and after it was cancelled by CBS, I haven't even watched a rerun of 2BG since then because CBS denying it a proper send-off was just too painful for me.:crying: And it's too bad that Indebted has poor viewership and is almost certainly doomed to be a one-season failure.:(

You are right that Broke does seem a bit similar to 2 Broke Girls. Natasha Leggero's character has a similar ditzy type personality Beth Behrs had.
