Would Beaver be a delinquent? howilu 04-01-2020, 10:21 AM i don't think Beaver would unless Larry Mondello talked him into trying pot. Larry whined his way into getting Beaver into trouble over the show's six year run. Torgo 04-01-2020, 10:33 AM i don't think Beaver would unless Larry Mondello talked him into trying pot. Even seasons Larry was no longer part of the show, that boy had skills. stevea 04-01-2020, 12:20 PM If he would smoke coffee grounds, he'd smoke anything, especially if Larry was there to egg him on. Would Beaver be a delinquent? Yeah, maybe? He was in that tune in, turn on and drop out era ! In the summer of love ,1967 he would have been about 17 than ? That would be about the age, smoke pot, protest the Vietnam war ! ;) GentlemanJim 04-01-2020, 02:29 PM Weed, Mary Jane? Would Beaver be a delinquent? Eddie Haskell: "First one's free squirt, from then on ya gotta pay" I think that situational factors would be the determining mechanism. As I recall when I took that first puff there was wide spread belief that the government was covering up (if not complicit in) aspects of the Kennedy assassination. That we had been lied to about Vietnam. And that many of the prejudices that had long been deep seeded in the fabric of this country were no longer acceptable. Smoking pot was seen as a low risk way to protest a system intent upon prohibiting it. I believe that Beaver would, and would feel like he was "rising to the challenge" while doing so. Marijuana, IMO causes far less societal harm than alcohol as a recreational intoxicant, you never hear about cops having to respond to a fight where a bunch of stoners threw somebody through a plate glass window. After I turned about 35, the stuff just started putting me to sleep, so it seemed like a waste. I quit as a matter of choice 27 years ago. If I could survive the demon weed, I'm confident that Beaver could have as well. Samme 04-01-2020, 02:38 PM Essentially, the kid was an idiot. Wally, no. Beaver, yes. stevea 04-01-2020, 05:37 PM He sure was, and the older he got the dumber he got. merlinjones 04-01-2020, 10:43 PM Pot wouldn't have helped Beaver's inherent paranoia about most things in life. Larry was probably a dealer who got busted. He then opened a Jack in the Box franchise. Haskell 04-02-2020, 02:41 AM I could definitely see him try lol OH Nuts! 04-02-2020, 12:43 PM No but Eddie would. And Lumpy would want his in hash brownies, more than likely. OMG could you imagine Larry’s and Lumpy’s appetite while stoned? |
