It did run for seven seasons so it's easy to assume that it was a hit. But it was still a show, that seemed to kind of get lost in the shuffle because it aired during a time when there were some all time great comedies on network TV. According to the Nielsen ratings (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Just_Shoot_Me!#Nielsen_ratings), it actually grew every year before Season 7 and was by far the most successful in Season 5.

David Spade also starred in Rules of Engagement, another 7-season show that somehow never made a lasting impression. Rules of Engagement was ranked: #25, #33, #24, #40, #49, #42, #52.

6. Just Shoot Me! (https://web.archive.org/web/20061031125210/http://www.jumptheshark.com/j/justshootme.htm)
Another NBC sitcom smash (https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Series/JustShootMe) that has somehow managed to almost entirely disappear from human consciousness in the years since it dropped off the face of the Earth, Just Shoot Me! (https://www.google.com/search?q=reddit+%22Just+Shoot+Me!%22&oq=reddit+%22Just+Shoot+Me!%22&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIICAEQABgWGB4yCAgCEAAYFhgeMgYIAxBFGEDSAQk2MjY4ajBqMTWoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#ip=1) initially made a name for itself as one of the networks biggest comedy hits in the late '90s and early 2000s.
Bringing together a collection of side-splitting entities in the form of David Spade, Laura San Giacomo, Wendie Malick and more, the show (https://www.google.com/search?q=recent+datalounge+%22Just+Shoot+Me%21%22&sca_esv=74866465c804140e&sxsrf=ACQVn09-n0YutO0EetZUyo_05UZ6a6Y2mw%3A1711164408750&ei=-Ev-ZY-qLefewN4PnoCW-AI&ved=0ahUKEwiPhvGVuImFAxVnL9AFHR6ABS8Q4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=recent+datalounge+%22Just+Shoot+Me%21%22&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiInJlY2VudCBkYXRhbG91bmdlICJKdXN0IFNob290IE1lISIyCBAhGKABGMMESII4UABYlyxwAHgAkAECmAHmAqAB5RqqAQgwLjExLjEuNLgBA8gBAPgBAZgCBKAC6wfCAgUQABiABMICCxAAGIAEGIoFGJECwgILEC4YkQIYgAQYigXCAgoQABiABBiKBRhDwgIGEAAYBxgewgIIEAAYgAQYogSYAwCSBwcwLjIuMC4yoAf5LA&sclient=gws-wiz-serp) centered around (https://justshootme.fandom.com/wiki/Just_Shoot_Me!) a group of employees going about their business while working for a fictional fashion magazine by the name of Blush.
Joining NewsRadio as a workplace comedy (https://www.vulture.com/2013/03/spin-city-just-shoot-me.html) sensation that definitely appeared to have found its audience, maintaining strong ratings throughout its seven-season run on the network, Just Shoot Me! (https://web.archive.org/web/20140407133547/http://forums.televisionwithoutpity.com/topic/2964503-just-shoot-me/?view=getnewpost) unfortunately also accompanies that fellow largely loved '90s comfort (https://www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2014/07/just-shoot-me-and-me/372912/) watch as a well-received but generally unremembered camera flash in the pan.
That being said, the show's Slow Donnie (https://justshootme.fandom.com/wiki/Slow_Donnie) episode (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Just_Shoot_Me!_episodes) from Season Three (https://jacksonupperco.com/2019/01/08/the-ten-best-just-shoot-me-episodes-of-season-three/) is still classed (https://robertdavidsullivan.typepad.com/my_weblog/2012/03/top-100-sitcom-episodes-of-all-time-no-68-slow-donnie-just-shoot-me.html) as one of the finest comedy episodes in TV history by many. Though that, and the fact the one-time NBC chuckle-generator is now readily available to binge on Hulu, hasn't been enough to establish the laugh-a-minute classic show as a cult go-to half-hour of joy for the streaming generation.
