A few months ago, I posted a thread called "Twelve-Thirty". The main point of this thread was a "Brady Bunch" episode that was going to be on in syndication the next afternoon. The fact that I wrote about it here is because this episode had an outcome that I found to be quite similar to the outcome of the "Gimme a Break!" episode called "Samantha's Protest". By the way, the "Brady Bunch" episode was called the "Snooperstar". According to my way of thinking the main thing that these two episodes have in common is that, in both cases, there was a character who felt giddy about something that did not end up happening. There was one other poster who replied to this thread. She and I had a little debate about the similarities and differences between these two episodes. Well, in New York, there is a W.B. channel that has syndicated episodes of a lot of classic shows. One of these shows is the "Honeymooners". Several episodes of this series are on this very day. However, one episode that I have not seen in a long time is the "Hot Dog Stand". The fact that I am bringing this up is because, just like Katie Kinisky and Cindy Brady, Ralph Kramdon got smacked in the face with reality after feeling giddy over something that he thought would be happening. I really wonder why this episode is never on the W.B. channel. I am wondering if it has something to do with syndication rights. I do not know if there is a difference between having the rights to the original 39 episodes and having the rights to segments of the "Jackie Gleason" show that were later shown as TV episodes. If anyone here can shed any light on the subject, I would be very interested in hearing from you.
